April 22 (Reuters) - David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, is expected to be the first witness for the prosecution of former U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, when he is certain to be asked about a scheme at the heart of the hush-money trial.
The New York Times on Sunday reported Pecker was set to go first, citing an unidentified person familiar with plan.
Here's a look at Pecker's role and what he may testify about:
- Pecker was the chief executive of American Media and publisher of tabloid newspaper the National Enquirer from 1999 until August 2020.
- He was a longtime friend of Trump who helped cover up potentially damaging stories about the businessman and candidate ahead of the 2016 presidential campaign.
- It was unclear whether Pecker agreed to testify voluntarily or is being compelled by subpoena, or how close he may still be to the former president.

I would be interested to know what you think of this Youtube video and the comments praising the dad?
Here's a video of an 11-year old at a school board meeting. He reads from a book, that he found at the school library, a sexually explicit passage that is obvious inappropriate for kids to be reading. Then the dad talks, whose remarks show he was clearly anti-covid masks, and IMO likely a covid denier. Thousands of comments on Youtube praise the boy and the dad for speaking out. Am I right to be unimpressed by the dad? Personally, I think the book shouldn't be in a school library, but I also think the dad is an asshole and using his son as a puppet to express his own outrage and his own political agenda. What are your thoughts?

One poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation showed Biden leading Trump 47 percent to 44 percent. There were 1,072 registered voters surveyed between February 20 and 28 in this poll.
Another poll of 1,350 registered voters by Emerson College put Biden ahead of the Republican by two percentage points, 51 percent to 49 percent. The survey was carried out between March 5 and 6.
Of the 6,334 registered voters surveyed by Morning Consult between March 1 and 5, 44 percent would vote for Biden and 43 percent for Trump.
And Biden would beat Trump 43 percent to 42 percent, according to TIPP polling.

Visit to a MAGA didn't go well. Am I to blame?
Went with wife to visit a MAGA. The conversation moved to healthcare. I was trying to say that healthcare is a basic human right in the European nation where I grew up. Here, tens of millions have healthcare because of Obama, and because of the actions of John McCain to stop GOP taking it away, and incidentally that Trump called McCain a loser because he was caught and incarcerated as a war prisoner, denigrating all vets. Meanwhile, my wife is telling me to stop talking. I'm saying to my wife: "Why do you want me not to speak?" The MAGA host is saying its because nobody cares what I have to say. As I try to speak, my wife keeps telling me to stop. At this point I'm raising my voice just to be heard. I've got two people who are against my right to speak what is on my mind. Then I'm told by MAGA host to leave as I am invited to a house and yelling. I certainly wasn't yelling. Anyway, I walked out and did yell at that point, "I care that millions of people have healthcare, you may not." I am not one to name-call or ever say anything abusive. Wife stayed for another half hour. Should I feel bad? Am I to blame?

Israel, White House condemn Donald Trump's remarks
Oct 12 (Reuters) - Israel and the White House on Thursday condemned remarks by Donald Trump in which he praised the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah and criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over an attack by Palestinian Hamas militants that killed more than 1,300 people in Israel.
Trump, a former Republican president who is the frontrunner to become the party's 2024 presidential nominee, called the Lebanese Hezbollah, a sworn enemy of Israel, "very smart" and accused Netanyahu of being "not prepared" for the Hamas attack, which also killed 22 Americans.
Putin calls Trump charges "persecution of a political rival for political reasons."
Shows how much Putin wants America to be his puppet. The first thing Trump would do is withdraw all aid to Ukraine and lift all sanctions against Russia.
“As for the prosecution of Trump, for us what is happening in today’s conditions, in my opinion, is good because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others democracy,” Putin said at an Eastern Economic Forum gathering in Russia’s Pacific Coast city of Vladivostok.
“Everything that is happening with Trump is the persecution of a political rival for political reasons. That’s what it is. And this is being done in front of the public of the United States and the whole world,” he said.
