Modern-Day Christian Prophets Will Soon Be Able To Accurately Report The News A Week In Advance

While preaching at a “School of the Spirit” class at his MorningStar Church last Friday night, right-wing pastor Rick Joyner declared that the world will soon see a wave of modern-day Christian prophets who will “exceed anything that was done by Old Covenant prophets” like Moses, so much so that they’ll be able to release newspapers accurately reporting on events a week in advance.

“We’re in desperate need of such prophets right now in the world,” he said. “We should be able to put newspapers out a week before the date and then go for longer; including sports. You don’t need to watch the Super Bowl, I’m going to tell you what’s going to happen.”

Joyner claimed that he had actually experienced a “foretaste” of that gift several years ago when he and fellow “prophet” Bob Jones supernaturally received the scores of several World Series games before they had even been played.

“We were having a conference when the World Series was going on and Bob and I both got some of the scores of the games before the games were played,” he said. “We didn’t tell anybody—we wrote them down, hid ’em, but didn’t tell anybody because we didn’t want anybody gambling on them.”

Democrats Strike Back: A New Tactic For Redrawing District Lines

When Georgia Republicans this year sought to make two legislators’ reelections a tad safer by moving some of their Black constituents into neighboring districts and replacing them with whites, it was the kind of state-level shenanigans that don’t tend to cause a national stir. Then former U.S. attorney general Eric Holder weighed in, urging the governor and the state senate to “reject this attempt to rig the political system.” He didn’t say “see you in court,” but he didn’t have to. Georgia lawmakers backed down, and Holder and his new National Democratic Redistricting Committee sent a message that they are keeping close watch on the shaping of the nation’s political maps. And if flinching turns to fighting, they’ll be looking at the courts as their most important weapon.

OMG, Sen. John Cornyn among 4 who will interview for FBI director job

Just shoot me now.

Sen. John Cornyn (Tex.), the second-ranking Senate Republican, who has in recent weeks become a more outward defender of President Trump, and acting FBI director Andrew McCabe, who on Thursday contradicted the Trump White House on a range of topics, will interview Saturday to serve as the FBI’s permanent director, according to people familiar with the matter.

The men are two of at least four people who will interview to replace James B. Comey, whom Trump suddenly fired this week, the people said.

The others are Alice Fisher, a white-collar defense lawyer who previously led the Justice Department’s criminal division, and Michael J. Garcia, a judge on the New York State Court of Appeals who previously served as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

France sets precedent for propaganda crackdown

Say it with me: Robots. Are. Not. People.

The Putinbots who were preemptively shut down in France leading up to Sunday’s election are really “unhappy” about France trampling all over their “rights” — like liberté, égalité and fraternité.

Fake people, visually represented by pillaged photos of actual people from the internet or sometimes cartoons or Twitter “eggs” — all created for the purpose of legitimizing and amplifying propaganda — are whining about their rights. “They” wanted to spread fake news and unleash the hacked emails from the campaign of Emmanuel Macron, France’s president-elect, but were shut down. Injuste!

“Amy Mek,” the Twitter profile I wrote about in March, is among the outraged.

Sale of Palm Beach home among few deals between Trump, Russians

The 2008 sale of a Palm Beach mansion to a Russian oligarch was cited in a letter issued Friday as one of the “few” occasions in which President Donald Trump profited from business with Russian interests.

The letter was written by Trump’s lawyers in an apparent effort to refute speculation of the president’s connections to Russian business and political figures. It covers both Trump’s personal dealings as well as those of The Trump Organization, or TTO.

“With a few exceptions — as detailed below — your tax returns do not reflect (1) any income of any type from Russian sources (2) any debt owed by you or TTO to Russian lenders or any interest paid by you or TTO to Russian lenders, (3) any equity investments by Russian persons or entities in entities controlled by you, or TTO, or (4) any equity or debt investments by you or TTO in Russian entities,” said the letter written by attorneys Sheri Dillon and William Nelson from the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.

One of those “few exceptions” detailed in the letter was Trump’s sale of the 62,000-square foot mansion at 515 N. County Road formerly known as Maison de L’Amitie, or House of Friendship.

The sale raised eyebrows at the time — and has remained a source of some local intrigue — in the 11 years since because of the premium paid by the buyer, Dmitry Rybolovlev, and his unclear motive.
