Can we put all this ageism aside?

Today a 78 year old women is in charge of congress and that is a great thing. In the months ahead there will be countless discussions of candidates to run for president - some younger and some older (Joe Biden and Bernie). I don't want to here people saying someone is too old to do this or that. That's pure ageism. Let us judge people by the content of there messages and not by the wrinkles in their skin. That is all thank you.

Dem lawmaker to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) intends to introduce articles of impeachment against President Trump on Thursday as the new session of Congress convenes.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Sherman's measure will accuse Trump of obstruction of justice in the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, among other things.

"There is no reason it shouldn’t be before the Congress,” Sherman told the news outlet. “Every day, Donald Trump shows that leaving the White House would be good for our country.”

I'm calling on congress to take up social issues...

With the stock market tanking and our retirement plans circling the drain congress need to sure up social security and health insurance. We probably should also add a minimum wage for all Americans. If we don't tackle these issues I'm probably going to end up in the slums eating Alpo for supper. It seems like my retirement plan has finally caught up from the 2008-9 crash and now this! I just can't win. Sigh...

I'm Not Seeing My Trump-Loving Family On Christmas And I Couldn't Be Happier About It

https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5c17d7bce4b030ed3ed001d0?ec_carp=7833643173178993602

This Christmas will be the third one I haven’t spent in my hometown. It’s a small town in southern Kentucky filled with more than its fair share of Donald Trump bumper stickers and Confederate flags. But even before Trump was elected president, it always made me feel claustrophobic.

The end of this holiday season will also cap the second calendar year I’ve gone without speaking to my parents, and by extension, the rest of my family. My holidays are no longer spent at my grandparents’ house with my parents, sister, uncle and random cousins. My parents helping to put Trump in office was the final nail in the coffin of a relationship that had long been rocky.

And despite people’s well-intended (but unnecessary) sympathy, life has never been happier for me.

What is our position on border security?

Obviously a wall is just stupid. But what is our policy? Should we track everyone crossing? Should we prevent people from crossing from south America without going through established channels. A big part of all these is obviously bad immigration policy of course.

Bernie mania 2018 - feel the Bern!

https://news.yahoo.com/bernie-sanders-feel-bern-2020-202851088.html

“If there’s somebody else who appears who can, for whatever reason, do a better job than me, I’ll work my ass off to elect him or her,” Sanders said. “If it turns out that I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump, then I will probably run.”

Go Bernie! I'm feeling the Bern!
