Why we decided to put the kid in online schooling

We have a 13 year old daughter (step for me) and as of Wednesday, she's going to finish out the school year doing online classes.
Her best friend is a boy who is a smaller kid and has come out as gay. He was getting picked on by some other kids. He went to the office and it didn't faze the other kids. They kept bullying him and not only made him cry, he started staying home from school and would not leave the house according to his parents. The bullies naturally called him a slur that guys often get called and one kid shoved him and kicked him when he was down. My daughter said. "Enough is enough" and punched the kicking kid. From what I gathered, she actually bloodied his nose. Naturally she got a 3 day suspension.
I do not question the duty of the school to suspend her, but this bullying needs to stop. The school did nothing to stop it so TJO, my daughter, decided that she would end it. So, TJO and her friend are now both online students until next school year. And she may go to another school if the situation doesn't improve at her home school.
Oh yeah, the bullies dad threatened me and my kid. He had a trump sticker on his truck. I laughed at him and asked if he liked jail because if he laid a hand on me, that's where he'd be going. He just sputtered and sped away.

I noticed gas prices down earlier today

At least at the station I went to. I don't suppose we'll hear about that in the msm though. I also heard that the "supply chain" problem seems to have abated. We won't hear much about that either. And if we do, it'll be due to something the repukes did.

Why the hell is Grassley running again?

He' 88 years old, not particularly mentally sound and probably as wealthy as he'll ever be.
So I think it's because he thinks he'll win and then he can retire. Then covid kimmy can appoint his grandson as his successor. Either that or she will appoint herself. So I say, let's get out there and work our assrs off for Abby Finkenauer to beat the fossil.
By the way, I have nothing against elderly people. My mom is 88 and doing all right. But there is no way she could be a Senator now and she admits it.

Well. It appears that Unions are making a comeback.

With the strike against Kellogg's and Deere and Company, among others, it looks like organized labor is making a comeback. And I say that's great.
After the dark days of Reagan etc., and the exploitation of workers, including me, it's time that we fight back.
Obviously nobody ever really wants to go on strike, because, money. But at some point, we, the working class have to say, "Enough is enough."

Presidents attending the 9/11 memorial

President Biden, of course. President Obama. President Clinton. And I think Bush will be in Shanksville. Notice any missing names? Some dumbass con man who is a traitor to the United States of America? Nobody better say anything about the former guy being patriotic
Ever.

Lunatic coming to Davenport

I just heard that on 9/11 Mike Lindell is visiting our city. Some prayer meeting or something. So if anyone is going to be in Davenport, Iowa that day, downtown might be a place to stay away from.
I'm sure various bars down there will have food and drink specials as it's Iowa vs. Iowa State weekend. Sure hope the pillow guy and the band of trumpites that are sure to follow him don't ruin things.
And besides that, what does pillow guy have to do with 9/11 anyway? I suppose he'll say that him and his real lord and Master could have prevented it by erecting walls around airports or something. Does that sound kind of stupid? Mo more stupid than constantly claiming that a free and fair election was stolen.

Well nobody said anti vaxxers were intelligent

As I am typing this, there is an anti vaxxer rally going on outside a local hospital which offers vaccinations and is the main place in town for covid patients to (hopefully) recover.
I had to go to the pet store and that took me directly past those morons, er, "freedom lovers". The light turned Ted, all the motorized traffic stopped, as we are all law abiding citizens, and when the light turned green, we tried to go. Except there was someone from the rally crossing the street, back and forth. The guy in front of me honked and yelled something at her as did someone going in the other direction. The guy in front of me was driving a Ford truck and likely would have caused the woman some damage had he proceeded forward like he had the right to. Finally she flipped him off and got out of the way. But by this time the light was yellow so only one car proceeded. I guess it doesn't occur to these dopes thar other people have stuff gong on and need to get from one place to another. I hope the news crew on site caught all this and shows it on their newscast, but I somehow doubt it.

So the trumpites are happy about USWNT bronze medal?

Seems a bit unpatriotic to me. The rightnies are always harping about how America should come first and foremost in everything at all times. And since the women's soccer club has a high profile player who has openly protested the national anthem and is (shudder) a lesbian, they root against possibly the greatest soccer team this country has ever produced, and that means men's and women's.
And I suppose they'll be rooting against the team USA Women's basketball team as well. Those ladies are really "woke". They are quite possibly at least one of the top five dynasties ever, in any sport. Sorry trumpites, these women aren't going to lose the gold medal game.

I feel like a damn hypocrite.

I have a 12, almost 13 year old daughter ( as she reminds me often) and now that the weather is nice, she has taken to wearing real short shorts.
There is nothing wrong with women being empowered and I don't care what they wear, how they assert themselves, etc. I grew up with a strong and liberated mom as well as a sister who felt the same. And I am the one and only male occupant in house now, including the dog. But when it's my daughter, I get protective. She walks the dog, rides her bike and does regular tween stuff. She has also said she wants to run on the track and field team in middle school next school year. That's all well and good, but darn it, I still worry and wish maybe she'd wear some longer shorts and no crop tops.
My wife thinks I'm crazy and she may be correct. But with the world being what it is, I have to worry. And I feel like a hypocrite because of it. I suppose I should just let her be a young woman and stop worrying so much, but I can't help it.
