Ami Horowitz: Bernie Fans Love Republican Tax Plan

I think it is important for everyone here to see this video. We really need to avoid the cult of personality or we are no better than the right. Unfortunately over the years I have seen it here too. Whether it be Howard Dean, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and now Al Franken, too many here indulge in that way of thinking. We have to be better and smarter than that.

Edit: To many, not all, of those who responded, thank you so much for proving my point for me. Instead of considering the point I was making many took the attitude that no criticism can be allowed and went on the attack. Classic cult of personality tactics. So please continue to attack. That will just continue to attack and keep proving my point.

Does anyone know which Senator has the most anti-Trump voting record?

I'll give you three guesses.

December 13, 2017

Please stop with the cult of personality.

That's the way the right acts. Al Franken is not god and Kristen Gillibrand is not the devil. Franken was a great Senator and champion of progressive causes but he was not perfect. No one is. Nor is Gillibrand but she has stood up for women, children, and supported rape victims.

This is hardball politics people and sometimes you have to sacrifice one of your own. If we want to win elections we have to stop beating our chests about how the "party let us down". The GOP let's their voters down all the time, but those voters stay loyal and still vote. That's why they win elections while too many on the left are too busy sitting on their high horse.

Have we abandoned the principle of Innocent until prove Guilty?

I know this is a legal principle but it seems that some are being demonized, and losing their jobs, based on very flimsy evidence.

John Ziegler: I Loathe Al Franken, But It Sure Seems Like He is Getting Totally Railroaded

Based on what we currently know, however, it sure seems like he is getting railroaded today based on the story by Los Angeles radio anchor Leeann Tweeden (who works on the show of Doug McIntyre, who I consider a friend). In fact, this is almost exactly the type of story I warned about earlier this week while discussing the new, much lower standards, which the news media suddenly has adopted for reporting allegations of sexual abuse.

Even the nature of the report itself fails to live up to normal journalistic standards. She did not tell this story to a major news outlet which then verified the details on its own. This was just her own personal account of what she says happened, with no independent reporting or examination of Franken’s side of the story, published on the website of her employer, a very lowly-rated “conservative” talk radio station.

This story, as it currently stands, is not fair journalism and my fellow conservatives would be screaming bloody murder if the target was a Republican they liked, rather than a Democrat they hate.

Bernie Sanders Says Hell Run For Re-election As An Independent

Bernie Sanders Says He’ll Run For Re-election As An Independent
“That’s what I’ve been doing for a long time and that’s what I’ll continue to do,” he said.

By Igor Bobic

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) confirmed he’ll run for re-election next year as an independent candidate.

“I am an independent, and I have always run in Vermont as an independent, while I caucus with the Democrats in the United States Senate,” Sanders said in an interview with New Hampshire’s Concord Monitor. “That’s what I’ve been doing for a long time and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

Sanders, 76, is serving his second term in the Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote. Last year, he was appointed to the Senate Democratic leadership team as outreach director.

Jimmy Carter: The Medias Been Harder on Trump Than Any Other President

Former President Jimmy Carter spoke out on the current President in an interview out last night with The New York Times‘ Maureen Dowd.

As Dowd writes, Carter sounded “eager” to work with Donald Trump on North Korea. He said he would even be willing to go there himself:

He said he has talked to Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, Trump’s national security adviser, who is a good friend, including at Zbigniew Brzezinski’s funeral when McMaster asked to sit next to Carter, but has so far gotten a negative response.

“I told him that I was available if they ever need me,” he said.

Don't think I'll trust Carter ever again. Sounds like he is sucking up to Trump for a trip to North Korea.

Carter has really gone off the rails here. If he had said one word to defend Obama from the birtherism or unfair attacks, he would have some credibility. At this point he is just sucking up to Trump. Disgusting!

The Media double standard continues

The media always holds democrats/progressives to a much higher standard than they do republicans/conservatives. The latest example: Harvey Weinstein.

This scandal is less than a week old and already some in the media are outraged that many Dems and progressives haven't denounced him yet. And I'm not talking about FAUX but CNN and MSNBC.

Now let's compare this to a similar scandal at FAUX with Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes. When those stories broke, no one in the media required republicans/conservatives to denounce either Ailes or O'Reilly, and to date very few have done so.

Liberal media, my ass!
