Run For Something!!! Run for our lives!

They have laid out their playbook.

Do we throw up our hands in anticipation of their less-than-merciful rule? Or do we get some fire in the belly and crawl out of our comfortable cocoons and try to block them out?

Please, look at every race around you. Every position of elected authority. Ask yourself "What Would Trump Do?". Ask yourself "Would I bring a lot more dignity, respect, competence, and mercy to this position than a MAGA monster?"

Win or lose...don't get stupid, don't get reckless, but go hard after them.

Please, if you, or someone you know and respect, is in a position to do so...

When wil we be allowed to be angry and scared about the apparent future?

At the risk of getting another post removed for insufficient optimism...I am worried about the future.

Will decent people EVER get excited and energetic? Or will we have to wait until the pain suffered by the precious and the frail have to be so overwhelming that we cannot live with ourselves?

Will we even get excited then? Or will any and all expressions of passion and energy have to go through several studies and committees? Obviously detailed linguistic analysis will have to be performed to provide acceptable messaging.

We are about to lose our nation to the orcs and all we can do is navel gaze?

MRA celebrity "Coach Red Pill" (Gonzalo Lira) has turned towards Putinist Propaganda

How a Sleazy American Dating Coach Became a Pro-Putin Shill in Ukraine

He peddled sexist bile and toxic relationship advice within a subculture populated by Men’s Rights Activists and incels—while living in Ukraine. Then the invasion started.

As soon as Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, Gonzalo Lira started sharing his thoughts and observations on the conflict in a run of YouTube videos and posts on Telegram and Twitter. “The commentary and analysis I post is without picking sides,” Lira, an American who’s lived in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv for years and was in Kyiv at the start of the offensive, wrote in a recent post, “trying to be as balanced and factually accurate as I can be.”

He began showing up on niche but notable podcasts and livestreams, where hosts introduced him as an unmediated font of on-the-ground insights, as someone willing to share truths about the complex conflict that the mainstream media either can’t or won’t. He’s also gained a slew of new followers—his Telegram has about 45,000 followers, up from 20,000 on March 1, and seems to be gaining hundreds more every day. Many people seem to view him as a valuable source, and have taken to signal-boosting his content.

~ snip ~

But until just months before this conflict started, he didn’t appear to present himself as a citizen journalist, or a Ukraine expert, or a foreign policy buff, or a war nerd. He was a “medium-sized manosphere YouTuber,” according to Manoel Horta Ribeiro, a researcher at Switzerland’s École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Ribeiro studies that digital space—a loose constellation of blogs, forums, and social-media accounts inhabited by pick-up artists, men’s rights activists, and incels. Most of those who dwell in this world believe that men are the true oppressed gender, despite clear evidence that women still face undeniable and rampant, systemic discrimination across the globe.

Under the name Coach Red Pill, Lira made videos and hosted digital seminars in which he offered dating, life, and relationship advice. In the manosphere, a “red-pilled” person is someone who’s realized hidden supposed truths about gender and relationships. These are usually tired stereotypes about how all women supposedly think, and reactionary ideas about the glory of traditional gender roles and relations and how their erosion screws over men.

Make Col. Macgregor the face of treasonous trumpism in 435 House districts.

We need to play their words and show their connections to Putin OVER and OVER until EVERYONE knows his name.
-----------------------------------

Why a former Trump appointee’s pro-Russia rhetoric matters

Retired Col. Douglas Macgregor wants the U.S. to let Putin do as he pleases in Ukraine, which brings to mind Macgregor’s role on Team Trump.

Far too many conservative voices have expressed support for Vladimir Putin and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor appeared on Fox News yesterday and went further than most. The Washington Post reported:

He argued that the United States should “absolutely” just let Putin take what he wants in Ukraine — even calling for lifting sanctions. Macgregor said he was sure that Putin had “no interest in crossing the west” of Ukraine and would settle for the east. He cited Ukraine’s history of corruption and said that “more important, the population there is indistinguishable from [Russia’s] own.”

As regular readers may recall, Donald Trump not only held Macgregor in high regard, the former president also wanted the retired colonel to hold public office in his administration. In fact, Trump’s original plan was to make Macgregor the U.S. ambassador to Germany.

~ snip ~

That plan collapsed when Macgregor’s record of offensive rhetoric came to light: During Fox News appearances, the retired colonel peddled strange conspiracy theories about George Soros, criticized Europe for being welcoming toward “Muslim invaders,” and spoke in support of using deadly force against those who try to immigrate to the United States illegally.

-----------------------------------------------------

Remind America that the GOP wants Trump back. And Trump WILL bring people like Macgregor back.

Steve Bannon and the Right Have a Scary New Tactic to Take Over Politics

Steve Bannon’s latest project has been infiltrating school boards, but not because he wants lunch prices lowered or more computers for underprivileged kids.

The former Trump adviser’s plan to taint more of American democracy, this time on a local level, is part of a larger trend in post-Jan. 6 America, according to Jared Holt, a fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab. He explains what those “terrifying” trends are exactly on this episode of The New Abnormal.

“Sometimes these local venues can be a more efficient way for them to accomplish what they’re trying to do. And people like Steve Bannon have been very explicit in telling their followers that if you run for a position in your local Republican party or your school board or something it doesn’t really take that much to get elected,” he says. “You can kind of deal out death by a million paper cuts.”

But that’s just a piece of the puzzle. Things haven’t gotten better, or resolved, with the far-right extremist issue in this country. Their tactics are just changing.

“The Oath Keepers don’t exist the same way that they did prior to the attack. The Proud Boys don’t exist the same way prior to the attack, but none of these groups or movements really went away. They were battered by the attack, but they weren’t broken by it. Two big things have been happening in extremism in the last year…”

Forget Donald Trump and January 6th! The REAL opponent in 2022 is apathy

People are tired tired TIRED of hearing about Donald Trump and the insurrection.

It is a shame, because he is an existential threat, albeit a diminishing one, and I would hope that people would care more. But the bulk of people, particularly non-political people, have or are rapidly tuning out.

What people DO care about is the TONE of the country. The arguing and divisiveness and particularly the name calling. Some people seem to think the only way to react to the GOP obnoxious frat boy tactics is to give it back as good as they get.

We will never beat them playing their game by their rules.

Democrats need to be strong, not petty. Rather than try to match the low rhetoric, focus on hope and restoration while making sure to point out the toxic nature of each individual candidate as opposed to "Hey look! Trump!" because that technique has already been proven a loser in Virginia.

Kyle Rittenhouse Tells Tucker Carlson He's 'Not a Racist Person' and Supports BLM: 'This Case Has No

Source: MEDIAite

By Sarah Rumpf Nov 21st, 2021, 5:36 pm

Kyle Rittenhouse was interviewed by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, his first media appearance since he was found not guilty of all five charges against him in his murder trial. In a clip from that interview released by Fox News, Rittenhouse insisted that his actions “had nothing to do with race,” and expressed support for the Black Lives Matter movement and peaceful demonstrations.

~ snip ~

Mark Richards, one of Rittenhouse’s defense attorneys, told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that he “didn’t approve of it” and “threw [the film crew] out of the room several times,” but he was “not always the boss” on decisions like that, apparently driven in part by the effort to crowdfund Rittenhouse’s legal defense.

In the clip that aired on Fox News on Sunday, Rittenhouse responds to critics who accused him of acting out of some kind of racial animus. Multiple commentators on MSNBC, for example, have called Rittenhouse a racist or White supremacist and MSNBC host Tiffany Cross called him a “little murderous White supremacist” on Sunday.

~ snip ~

“I’m not a racist person,” Rittenhouse said. “I support the BLM movement. I support peacefully demonstrating.”

Reminding people how rude trumpists are

We need the people on the edge, the flawed but good souls who can be reached, to understand and appreciate that rude, mean spirited people will end up in charge of a lot of things that affect our freedom if the trumpists succeed in gaining and manipulating the power of government to turn against their enemies.

Sorry, but yes, politics IS a popularity contest, not a contest of honor and ability.

October 23, 2021

Remember how mean and nasty TFG and his supporters were and are?

THAT is what needs to be front and center for 2022 and 2024.

Remind people how unfriendly trumpism is. How hostile and self-centered so many people who support him are. Show voters a world veering back towards respectful behavior vs "F*** Your Feelings". Because the middle is madder at the bickering and the sniping more than anything else.

"Mean tweets"? Yes, Mr. Mean Tweets. We do NOT want that back in power.

The Dems will NEVER beat the GQP at their own game.
