Entitlement: Tow Truck Driver's Experience

My wife had to get her car towed. When the tow driver picked her up, he had a story to tell. It seems that earlier that morning, he was dispatched to pick up a woman whose car had broken down. When he arrived, the woman was furious with him. He had showed up to early! She hadn't had enough time to go to Starbucks to get coffee. She yelled at him for that for awhile and then, as he was driving her to the garage, demanded that he pull over at the nearest Starbucks so she could get her coffee. (Mind you, we are talking about a big ass tow truck with a car on the back, and this is in a congested part of town during rush hour.) When it was clear he was not going to drive out of his way to fulfill her need for coffee, she began screaming at him again. This lasted until they reached the garage where he dropped her and her car off.

It's a bizarre story for sure. I guess the woman in question felt justified because the driver was, after all, providing a service and in that capacity he should have gone out of his way for her. But it made me think of all the times I've had to have my car towed. Believe me, I am getting my AAA money's worth. I thought about the time I got towed 115 miles over mountain passes and downtown traffic. By the end of that journey, the driver and I were good buddies. Sure, he was providing a service, but he wasn't my private chauffeur for the day. So where do some people get their sense of entitlement? Where did it all go wrong?

Scarborough on Susan Rice: What if Cheney had asked for unmasking?

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Tuesday suggested some people are holding former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice to a different standard than they would have held the George W. Bush administration.

The “Morning Joe” host questioned those dismissing reports that Rice sought to unmask President Trump’s transition team members mentioned in intelligence briefings, asking: "What if Dick Cheney had asked for the unmasking of names for Barack Obama’s incoming administration?”

"This Bloomberg report says that one official familiar with reports say they contained valuable political information, not intel, but valuable political information on what the Trump transition team was doing, including who Trump was meeting, who the Trump team was meeting, what the views were of Trump associates on foreign policy matters and plans for the incoming administration," Scarborough said.

"If that report is accurate, it begs a lot of questions about what was going on. And people who want to dismiss it as routine, I think, are uncurious," NBC political analyst Mark Halperin responded.

Scarborough raised a hypothetical scenario of the Bush administration doing the same thing during Obama’s transition.

And there it is, the double blaming of Obama for their own scandal. Obama ordered it, and Obama would have been outraged if it had happened to him. Except it didn't, and Rice did nothing wrong. Posters in the comments section are calling it felony!

If tRump went to prison for something other than Russia, would it satisfy?

If no one else involved had to answer for collusion, but we were absolutely sure that our intelligence agencies were still working on the problem in the background, would it be enough?

I'm not so sure that there will ever be full disclosure.

Can Someone Answer Questions about NSC and Intelligence?

I had this question last night, and did not get a response. I've tried researching it, but the information is a little vague.

How much influence can the NSC exert on our intelligence agencies? I know the CIA coordinates with the NSC, but does the FBI ever get involved? If so, can the NSC order the FBI to unmask names in certain documents?

Thanks in advance!
