Choose Your 3 Wheeler Micro Car

Reliant Robin

Isetta Bubble Car

Messershmitt KR 200

Peel P50

Bond Bug

Just think about how rare and glorious the Peel is. Built on the Isle of Man. Smallest production car ever. You can lift it up by the rear and carry it into your office. I'm definitely going with the Peel!

Where's the Worst Place You've Ever Spent the Night?

Mine: In a covered picnic shelter at a rest stop outside of Moorcroft, WY on a road trip up to Devil's Tower. Rain was pouring down, an utter deluge. The picnic shelter had a low wall around it to keep out the wind. It also served to keep the water contained within the shelter. By morning, my sleeping bag was soaked, and I was soaked inside it.

Runner up: In a youth hostel in old city Jerusalem. The place was swarming with bed bugs, and my someone riffled through my backpack.

What's yours?

How Many People Do You Meet In A Lifetime?

Here is a fun exercise that stems from a conversation I had with a student. We were discussing how many people lived in the Denver metro area (2.8 million). That's a lot of people. How many of them do you think you can meet in a lifetime?

I teach at the community college, so I have the opportunity to meet a lot of people. But let's see how it breaks down.

Suppose 20 students per class X 6 classes per year (the maximum number I can have) X 10 years = 1,200 people (class sizes can be a lot smaller, so I'm just going to use this number for the purpose of my argument).

So in ten years, I have met approximately 0.04% of the Denver metro population!

28,000 = 1%, so at the rate of 1,200 people every 10 years, it would take me 230 years to meet 1% of the population I am a part of.

I don't know if this makes me want to get out more or just crawl under the bed and hide.

What percentage of your town/city/metropolis' population do you think you meet in a lifetime?

Soak the rich? Americans say go for it

The prospect of 70 percent tax rates for multimillionaires and special levies on the super-rich draw howls about creeping socialism and warnings of economic disaster in much of Washington.

But polling suggests that when it comes to soaking the rich, the American public is increasingly on board.

Surveys are showing overwhelming support for raising taxes on top earners, including a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll released Monday that found 76 percent of registered voters believe the wealthiest Americans should pay more in taxes. A recent Fox News survey showed that 70 percent of Americans favor raising taxes on those earning over $10 million — including 54 percent of Republicans.

The numbers suggest the political ground upon which the 2020 presidential campaign will be fought is shifting in dramatic ways, reflecting the rise in inequality in the United States and growing concerns in the electorate about the fairness of the American system.

Do you think the Faux Nooze viewers who support a tax hike realize their beloved Rump is the one making it easier on the uber wealthy?

Can Congress Force Whitaker to Put a Bag Over His Head?

I'm seriously disgusted by his face and flapping organ of bullshittery (AKA his mouth).

Failing DU!

That's it, I've really had it with DU this time. Everyone else already has at least one heart, and I have none! And how long has it been already? No one seems to appreciate how I have the best words. I call this hearts thing fake news. Everyone is buying millions of hearts for themselves. Why, I saw some DUers on the rooftops celebrating how they had bought hearts for themselves. These are crisis hearts paid for by none other than Soros! So until I receive some big, beautiful hearts, I'm not going to play this game anymore. In fact, I'm just going to shut down all of the internet so no one can have any fun at all.

I deserve hearts! And as soon as I get some, I'm heading to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate...

Identity Politics is Necessary

Discuss...

I bring this up in response to Stacey Abrams embracing identity politics (and getting flak for it).
