Pittsburgh Jewish Group Raises Money for New Zealand Muslim Community After Mosque Shootings

A Pittsburgh Jewish group is raising money for the victims of mass shootings at two mosques in New Zealand as a show of gratitude for the previous generosity shown by Muslim groups.

Last October, after a gunman killed 11 people at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue, Muslim groups were quick to raise money for the Jewish community there.

In the wake of Friday’s terror attack on two Christchurch mosques that took the lives of 49 people and injured at least 40, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is working to reciprocate the support that Pittsburgh’s Jewish community received from Muslim groups in its own time of need.

My granddaughter got to hear Obama speak today.

She teaches French to first year students in exchange for her Master's Degree tuition at the University of Illinois. She said so many people wanted tickets that they held a lottery and she bought a ticket and was lucky enough to win one. She said that she has always loved to listen to him speak but it is even more awesome when you are there live and people were so raptly listening that his voice was the only thing you heard.

Lordy how I miss him. I miss his smile, his sense of humor, his genuine goodness, his sense of rightness and fairness, his intelligence and most of all, viewing what he was replaced with, his sanity.

At 75, I remember a lot of presidents. I remember and respected Congress people on both sides of the aisle. There was a time when you could respect a Republican even if you disagreed with him/her. Now there are only greedy, power hungry bigots or bizarre twits like Gohmert. The few that still retain a degree of sanity are throwing in the towel. Since they are quitting anyway, they need to grow a pair and vote to save this country from the likes of Kavanaugh. What would it hurt since they are quitting anyway?

It was a computor generated voice that said that my windows had been compromised by several foreign countries and my license would be revoked if I did not contact them and change my key. I did not contact them but thought I would let all of you know.
