Think the distinction is on the perceived worth of the news source.

I might agree with you, if

We had a system like most other current democracies.

We don't.

We have a binary, winner-take-all system. Plus the electoral college.

Do I want it changed? Yes, I do. Is it currently what it is? Yes, it is.

Anybody who does not choose the lesser of the evils in our unfortunate system is not, IMHO, facing reality.

And, yes, "lesser" implies only two choices.
