JMO One reason many Americans don't treat covid seriously enough

is that many of the HIGH PROFILE persons who get the virus either show few effects or are sidelined for a very short period.
Yeah, I know Herman Cain died, but it seems this pandemic is hitting the poor and disadvantaged disproportionally.

I attempted to find something to back up my musings. I found an article that seems to back up my thoughts. I will post a link below if anyone is interested.

IMO, if the rich and famous were dying at the same rate as the poor, the average American "might" take the taking of precautions more seriously. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have someone competent in the WH, instead of a buffoon.

"What does average income have to do with poor outcomes from coronavirus infection? The diseases that are more prevalent in poor and minority communities reflect decades of structural inequalities, of the burden of racism, income inequality, and marginalization all of which add up to populations that are simply much more vulnerable to any stressors—and COVID-19 is no exception—than those who are richer, more connected, and have the resources to buy their health, in good times and bad. If there ever was an illustration of the fact that the virus does indeed discriminate, it is this. Yes, we may all be at risk of contracting the virus, but even when we do, some of us are much more likely to die than others."

Sweeney is a whiney ass little baby

Always has been. Someone needs to shut him down.

He cares more about fucking football and his legacy than ANY player or their health.

Just for good measure, FUCK YOU Dabo!

"Swinney said Sunday that Clemson followed all required protocols when it traveled with a player who had shown prior symptoms of COVID-19 but did not receive a positive test result until after the team arrived in Tallahassee, Florida, on Friday night. Swinney implied that FSU's administrators wanted out of the game and used the positive test as an excuse to cancel.

"This game was not canceled because of COVID," Swinney said. "COVID was just an excuse to cancel the game. I have no doubt their players wanted to play and would have played. And same with the coaches. To me, the Florida State administration forfeited the game.""

You had a positive player asswipe. Period. 🖕🖕🖕

Ya know what makes me so angry? Re: Rittenhouse

This SOB domestic terrorist gets released on bail. This while, in Gitmo, there are still people being held there who have never had a trial. People who have been there since 2002.

He is released while there are an estimated 40 thousand people incarcerated for marijuana offenses.

Fuck, this pisses me off.

Anime related post

I am not a writer or essayist but I am going to start giving some opinions on the anime that I am watching or have watched. No one here may care, but for the few who do and are looking for new series to watch, I am glad to help.

I watch about 2 hrs of anime a day and have been doing so for years. I can't count the number of series I have finished and have forgotten more than I can remember. So, most of this will be just a few sentences describing something I am currently watching.

I just finished watching The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited, airing on Funimation. It was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to people who like mysteries and action. It is a short series, only 11 episodes, but has a satisfying end and doesn't leave you hanging.

It is described by Wiki as: Daisuke Kambe, a detective with an extreme amount of personal wealth, is assigned to the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters, a place for officers who have caused problems for the Metropolitan Police Department are sent. There, Daisuke is partnered with Haru Katou, who is repulsed by Daisuke's bribery. Challenging mysteries unfold in front of the two detectives, and they must work together to solve them.

This is not quite true. Kambe is not a detective and is NOT assigned to the division. He pretty much inserts himself into the position with his financial influence.

The main characters have interesting personalities...not especially likeable, but interesting. For a short series, you do care what happens to them.

Is ActBlue the best way to donate to the Georgia run-off?

I did a search and couldn't find anything current.

Thanks

I hope I am wrong....terribly wrong, but it seems to me that this election proved one thing

That 2024 will give us more of the same from the repug party. Hate, racism, gerrymandering and lying about your opponent got them 71 million votes in 2020. How likely is it that they will change? I don't see any moderation of the party or the message in my lifetime.

IMO, just one more reason that we cannot let the malfeasance go unpunished. We must prove that NO ONE is above the law.

I was just thinking of all the expectations the nation has of Joe Biden.

Get us out of a pandemic.
Get the economy back on track.
Get the debt under control.
Fix our healthcare system.
Gun control.
Immigration.
Etc, etc, etc.

And there will be little patience for these things to get addressed.

Compare that to what was expected of tRump. Don't fuck up. That was ALL that was expected of him. That was the only "standard" he was held to. DON'T FUCK IT UP.

AND HE COULDN'T EVEN DO THAT.

I know there is no fairness in the world, but dammit to hell, that sure doesn't seem fair to me.
