B movie with good performance by Jason Bateman as Kavanaugh-type character
Watch on Netflix for brief diversion
Why don't we think that WINNING will fire up the base?
Republicans vote. Our people need to be dragged kicking and screaming to the polls. Taking down Kavanaugh may give them a taste of what is to come and we can remind them that DEMOCRATS stand for something.
Bandwagon fans need to get to the polls. Lets not be afraid to win this one.
LESS THAN
Today, I'm reminded that I am less than.
Apologies to African Americans, Native Americans, minorities and LGBT. I know every day is a reminder to you.
Chrissie Blasey didn't tell anyone because at 15
She knew that every single one of her friends, including her boyfriend, would look the other way and every single one of his friends would lie for him. Even while stumbling drunk, Kavanaugh and Judge could correctly calculate that they could do anything they wanted to anyone they wanted.
Years of depression? Its from the realization that you are lesser than. The nicest, smartest girl from the country club swim team is less than a drunken, loutish, rapey, backstabbing, lying boy.
As it was and ever shall be.
Pollyanna here. Does anyone here think that Republicans
Would not be leaking the report all over the place if Mark Judge had exonerated Kavanaugh?
Kavanaugh blurts out "the Swetnick thing is a JOKE"
Did anyone else see this as confession that Ford and Ramirez are telling the truth?
Judicial temperament
My younger brother, anti-Trump Republican, posted his thoughts on Kavanaugh hearings. Said he believed Ford. Said he did not believe Kavanaugh and was put off by the chip on his shoulder. Brothers wife is liberal. She and other liberals weighed in. His conservative friends weighed in. (He lives in NE Georgia so he had plenty of them). Not the usual outrage, but several angry that Kavanaugh would be treated so poorly, etc). One Republican cousin of ours picked up the this is bullshit line. I was pleasantly surprised, and blown away, when one of my older Republican cousins, who NEVER mentions politics, said he agreed with my brother and said Flake did the right thing to put this on pause.
The theme of the post was temperament. I was not going to highjack the post (my brother still has to make a living; I love him; the racism of the RWrs is pushing him back to us) so I only mentioned that I personally did not have the temperament to be a traffic court judge and therefore would never put my hat in the ring to be a judge. Another poster, who WAS a former state court judge, and a Republican, weighed in about keeping sane when while litigants are mud wrestling in court. The implications were that he did not find Kavanaugh to have good judicial temperament. Again, rural Georgia, cant say everything you want to say.
We made points on Facebook with the Republicans on the theme of judicial temperament. If we are calling our Senators, lack of judicial temperament is something that will get under their skin. Should be our talking point going forward.
As Bill Maher said last night, if this were a custody hearing, Ford gets the kids.
Bill Maher has Lucifer on right now ... Steve Bannon
I wonder if they will fumigate when he leaves
There is a distinct possibility that the majority of Americans just want to slap Brett Kavanaugh's
teenage face.
Is that right? Probably not. On the other hand, someone's whose face the country wants to slap should probably not be on the Supreme Court.
Are we really going to put someone on the Supreme Court who
Could, theoretically, be charged with a felony in the State of Maryland?
