Beatlelvr's JournalToday is my friend's graveside service
This is going to be hard. Known her since 7th grade homeroom 1963, all through high school. I moved away, we lost touch, but I moved back to home town in 2011 to help my mom. We reconnected, and picked up with no problem. We disagreed about politics and religion, but we avoided those issues. She got the pancreatic cancer diagnosis last summer, just out of the blue. Only one symptom: stomach and side pains one day, and husband took her to emergency. She didn't smoke or drink but was overweight.
My mom passed away 11 days before my friend, but at 100 yrs old, it was a blessing. This however just sucks in so many ways!
Questions about Georgia, Alabama and Florida
So, I've been to 47 usa states (lots of road trips with parents). A bucket list item is to have been to all 50, and these three are the ones left.
I plan to fly to Atlanta from L. A. and rent a car. Things I want to see:
Jimmy Carter Library, Atlanta
Plains
Savanah
Everglades
St. Augustine
Key West
Birmingham
Selma
Is there anything else you can suggest?
Can I do this in 10 days or so?
I hope to go in October. Any good fall color spots?
Thanks!!!
Who else is watching True Detective?
I love this series. New one has Jodi Foster who is awesome of course. But she's playing a hard as nails cop, which is difficult to watch for me! Really compelling story and characters.
Anybody watching Monsieur Spade on Acorn?
It's only episode one and I'm so confused. Sam Spade (Clive Owen) winds up in France in 1955, paid to deliver a young girl to her father. After that, the story gets really disjointed.
OMG have you seen this scam?
Watching Death in Paradise just now on Ovation. Commercial comes on for Miracle Spring Water. Apparently, if you order this little packet of this stuff, all your debts will disappear! It's a miracle! No money is asked for, but I'm sure that will come later.
Great show on Britbox
Archie. About Cary Grant. 4 part series, producers are Dyan Cannon and Jennifer Grant.
Rehoming 1 yr old female cat
Need some advice please. My niece needed to rehome one of her cats and I volunteered. Already have 9 yr old female cat. I have new cat in a bedroom for 4 days. She's friendly, but both she and my cat know there's another cat on other side of door. Should I take her out and let my cat sniff around that room, or should I lock my cat up while new cat sniffs out rest of house? Or both? When should I introduce to each other? Also have 19 yr old female cat but she doesn't get along with anyone, and pretty much sleeps all day.
Thanks for any help.
