Any Roku users here?

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but it's the closest I could find.

I received a Roku unit as a gift a few years ago and plugged it into our fairly new flat screen TV. Worked fine for a while, then we started getting the HDCP error screen. So each time I followed the instructions (basically, unplug everything and plug it back) and got it working again. This happened several times over a period of maybe a couple of months, then suddenly it was working fine.

More recently, we plugged it into a brand-new flat-screen TV. Fine for a few months, then the error screen started again. So I went back to the plug/unplug drill, but over the past few weeks the error screen has come up three to four times over a period of maybe an hour and a half. Sometimes, if I just give it a couple of minutes, it goes back to showing the program.

I've looked for solutions online and on the Roku web site, but they basically just say to do what I've been doing all along.

Could it be a defective unit, or do these things just crap out after a few years so you go out and buy a new one, or is there a "real" solution to this?

Thank you.

I can think of another question for the Dems to ask

How stupid do you think the American public is?

January 25, 2020

Conservatives: "Democrats haven't mentioned one thing Trump did that was illegal."

I've seen this comment online a bunch of times by now (only online -- I refuse to talk politics in person, even with other Democrats). And it really makes me wonder how many people who feel this way get their news from sources other than Fox. For instance, the word is that Fox did not cover the Democrats's actual opening statements.

Really, I'm sick of hearing myself cuss.

But in the last couple of years my cuss quota has increased exponentially. I don't recall cussing in writing before, although I may have done so a few times. But ever since getting involved in DU and reading posts, and posting, I find myself cussing in writing more and more.

I have to believe other people here have done the same, but, still, I don't like to see myself go there.

Calling Hunter Biden to testify?

Put me down with the group that says it's a bullshit idea, just another distraction.

Whatever he may have done out there has NOTHING to do with T looking to find dirt on a political opponent. According to what we've read in the media, that act was illegal, regardless of whether they would have found anything or not. "Your honor, I went to rob this guy's house but didn't find anything to take, so I didn't commit a crime."

If Hunter did something illegal, or if there's probable cause, then sure, investigate it. But that's a whole separate conversation, and this impeachment has NOTHING to do with it.

I've had it up to here, and then some, with all these BULLSHIT distractions.

Rudy wants to join T's impeachment team.

I say let him. Welcome him aboard. Hell, put him in charge.

He'll screw it up worse than a cup of molasses in the gas tank.

Bloomberg's comment about spending a billion to defeat T: another way to use part of it

Okay, so I got a ginormous bug up my rear end yesterday.

Just now I logged onto Bloomberg's site to send him an email, but there's no place to do so. Apparently he doesn't want to hear from us -- he just wants us to sign up and follow his lead. Seems to be the thing with politicians nowadays, unless you happen to be a giga-donor.

In any case, what I was going to suggest to him is that he use a (small) part of that billion to do something a little different. Right now T is getting all the press time and all the blame, while people who have been enabling him all this time are somehow flying under the radar and getting very little notice. One of them is Hannity.

I think Bloomberg should use part of that billion to start a campaign -- full-page ads in major papers, as well as online and TV spots -- to get people to boycott Hannity's advertisers. Sure it's all about the ratings and paying for commercials, and so on and on, but in a very real sense his advertisers are enabling what Hannity is doing and therefore what T is doing.

If Hannity has the Constitutional right to call out people for bullshit and encourage them to enable T to destroy this nation, then the rest of us have a Constitutional right to call him out for it. Boycott his advertisers and Fox will see the revenues begin to drop.

It's all about money.

January 12, 2020

I would love to have Hannity's job.

Sit there spouting bullshit mostly written by someone else, having a cult following of people who are too naive (I won't say stupid or even dumb) to realize what I'm doing, and getting them pissed off nightly enough to come back and watch the commercials. Meanwhile I have no responsibility to speak of, no worries about health insurance or retirement, and I am totally protected by a huge corporation that has my back no matter what I say or who gets hurt by it. Then I can go home, look at myself in the mirror, and feel totally okay with what I'm doing for a living. Yeah, I'd love to do that.

So Fuckface Hannity is threatening GOP senators

that he'll give out "the phone number" if they allow witnesses?

It's not clear what number he's babbling about, but how stupid does he think his viewers are?

Somebody please put him out of our misery. He needs to go back under a rock.

A little help with current candidates, please.

Okay, I'll admit it: I can't stand to listen to political speeches. To me they all sound the same: bla blah blah. So, I have a question for those of you who are more in-the-loop than I am:

Have any of the current candidates expressed a serious intent to correct some of the problems that PoS has created?
