An underrated holiday dessert and not too hard to make.....Bananas Foster.

Not too heavy, festive, only drawback is to set yourself on fire. But I like to make it.

If I am in the wrong forum....well...ignore me.

Once Trump pulls our troops out of any hotspots he will have an excuse not to go visit them.

Somewhat sarcasm, but who ever knows what his motivations are? I don't. I don't think he always does either.

Another curious thing that is becoming more apparent. When the Great Negotiator gets frustrated he tends to just throw up his hands and say "Okay, have it your way!' This has manifested itself in just the last week or two. First with Schumer/Pelosi and now Erdogan.

A suggestion for a nice Christmas gift for that person who already has everything.

I notice a lot of posts on DU related to the passing of beloved pets. I lost my almost 18 year old Beagle/Bassett mix in March of this year.
Meanwhile I was trying to figure out what to get my 98 year old neighbor. She has a large extended family that pampers her and she wants for nothing. Her small house is already overcrowded with nic nacs and such. So trying to figure out what to get her was perplexing. My dog, Buddy, used to love to go lay by her rocking chair on the porch and she would scratch his ears and pet him. It was one of the highlights of both their days. She seldom comes outside in cold weather, but beginning in the spring he would beeline to her rocking chair when on his walks.

I hope it is not against DU rules to advocate for any specifiuc charity. If so, please delete this post. But what I ended up doing was using PayPal to make a donation to the ASPCA in memory of my Buddy and designate the Christmas card to go to my neighbor and the donation appear in her name. She will not have to pay anything or whatever. I hope it was the right thing to do. It brought tears to my eyes so I suspect maybe it was.

This is just a suggestion that I thought I would pass along to anyone trying to figure out what to get the person who has everything. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a wonderful 2019 to all.

Who is buying the "We caught ten terrorists" line? I'm not.

I am not knowledgeable about the "watch list." I always thought there was distinction between that and someone being an actual proven terrorist.

So when do you get into the "Christmas Spirit," if at all?

Just had this discussion with my significant other. She has had decorations up for a couple of weeks. I was trying to explain that I was more of a mid December person. A week or two of Christmas carols is plenty for me.

There certainly is not any wrong answer. Everyone is different.

On the other hand I keep my fake 4' tree up all year round. It gets decorated for Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, 4th of July, etc. Mostly it is just a night light that goes out around 5am.....

Free speech tv is having its fund drive. Just a reminder.

If this is any violation of DU rules, I will gladly delete the post.

Sorry for another GHWB thread, but I have not watched any of today's activities. I appreciate his

WWII service. I am sorry for the family. That's about all I can say.
Otherwise I just feel oddly ambivalent. Not angry or vengeful. No tears. Certainly no joy. Wish I had something more profound to say.
Whatever your thoughts are, more power to you. I am just not in mourning.
