Ohio doctor fired by hospital after saying she would give Jews 'the wrong meds'

A hospital in Cleveland reportedly fired a resident after it was discovered she had been sharing anti-Semitic comments on social media.

Cleveland.com reported on Sunday that the Cleveland Clinic confirmed that Lara Kollab is no longer working with the organization after having only worked as a supervised resident with the clinic from July to September last year.

“She is no longer working at Cleveland Clinic. In no way do these beliefs reflect those of our organization. We fully embrace diversity, inclusion and a culture of safety and respect across our entire health system,” the organization also said in a statement on Sunday.


According to Times of Israel, Kollab had a history of making anti-Semitic comments on social media for years, dating back to 2011.

Kollab had reportedly called for violence against Jews in several tweets, in which she also referred to Jews as "dogs" and compared Israel to the Nazi regime.

Kollab could also be seen saying she would “purposely give all the yahood the wrong meds,” using the Arabic word for Jews, in a screenshot of a tweet made in 2012 shared by the publication.

On Monday, the president sent out a New Year’s greeting on Twitter that managed to pack lots of self-pity and passive-aggression into an 11-second clip.

The president’s son celebrated his 41st birthday by retweeting an article featuring “his most bada$$ Instagram photos to date.”

Donald Trump Jr. turned 41 on Dec. 31, and he attempted to celebrate by showing the world what a “bada$$” he is.

The president’s son celebrated the big day by retweeting a link to a Daily Caller article titled “It’s Donald Trump Jr.’s Birthday. Celebrate With His Most Bada$$ Instagram Photos To Date.”

The article begins, “In case you didn’t know, Donald Trump Jr. has a pretty fire Instagram” and goes on to feature 37 pics, many of which show him fishing or wearing camo.

Some of the more “fire” posts include one with Junior posing with a falcon and another with Poison frontman Bret Michaels.

Retweeting a puff piece praising your Instagram account might strike some as a little desperate, which may be why The Daily Dot called Junior’s post a contender for the “saddest and bleakest tweet of the year.”

Maybe, but consider this: So far, it looks as if he has not received any public happy birthday posts from the president or sister Ivanka Trump, just this one from brother Eric Trump.

Arizona residents attack self driving cars

A New York Times report today followed up on incidents that were first brought to light by the Arizona Republic earlier this month. There have been at least 21 attacks since 2017 that range in severity from seemingly pure mischief to more serious acts.

The most brazen incident took place this August when a man armed with a handgun tried to scare the safety driver in an autonomous Chrysler Pacifica. That man in question cited the Uber incident that killed a pedestrian earlier this year, and was eventually charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.

Another safety driver was threatened with a PVC pipe, while other incidents involve people throwing rocks, blocking routes, and slashing the tires of Waymo vehicles. There are also attempts to derail the car while it is autonomously driving. One particular Jeep last year tried to run the Chrysler Pacificas off the road six times.

In all these cases, Waymo or the safety drivers have not pressed charges. The Alphabet division directs its drivers to first contact the internal dispatch system during incidents.

In fact, police contact is reportedly kept to a minimum, with one incident not reported until four days after it took place. According to the NYT, Waymo in some cases is unwilling to provide footage of the attack. This defeats the benefit of self-driving vehicles always maintaining video of everything happening around the car.
