Medical student put on a fat suit and disguised himself as a Black woman to throw acid on his ex-girlfriend, disfiguring her for life

A man disguised himself to throw acid at the face of his ex-girlfriend without being caught.
An extensive investigation led police to Milad Rouf, 25.
The victim, a junior doctor, testified that she could not close her eyes and was traumatized by the event.
A man who disguised himself as a woman to throw acid over his ex-girlfriend has been jailed for 15 years.

On October 7, Milad Rouf, 25, a former medical student, was sentenced after pleading guilty to count 1 of applying a corrosive fluid with intent on May 20, 2021.

Rouf, from Cardiff, used a costume to disguise himself as a Black woman of a larger build and went to the home of his ex-girlfriend, a junior doctor, in Brighton, Sussex, southern England. When she opened the door he handed her a note and as she read it threw sulphuric acid in her face.

The acid was so concentrated it scorched the paintwork off Alaoui's front door, The Guardian reported.

A criminal investigation led Sussex Police to search Rouf's home. It revealed a shopping list detailing what he needed for his costume, as well as the costume itself.

Newsmax Host Says US Should Eliminate 4 govt agencies and comment section isn't dominated by MAGAs

Newsmax nut wrote:
And if we need money to pay those already-promised, not new, already-promised future obligations, then simply do away with lots in government. How about do away with the departments that we do not need. We start with the Department of Education. Move on to the Department of Commerce. [EPA]. And yes, even the Department of Energy. Just wipe them out. That takes care of much more than $100 billion alone. And states should be handling all of those things on their own anyway.

I held my nose and went into the comments expecting them to be dominated by the usual MAGA/Faux news crowd... was surprised to find comments like this dominating:

Alfred McKie14h
Do some people really think far enough before they speak? What would be Stinchfield's comments if it was the Republicans who drafted the Infrastructure BIll? He suggests that states should be handling education, commerce and energy on their own, but what about the more financially and economically challenged states (primarily due to population size and resources)? How would they handle these things? I guess in his world only the strong survive. And then you have others commenting that smarter people would move to the more competent states. What??? Do they understand the negative impact that a huge and untimely population shift can have on the communities that are directly affected???

Bernhard Goetsch13h
Sure. Wipe out the Department of Education. Because dumb people are better to control. And the Department of Energy-- lets burn more coal. If the States are handling "all these things" by themselves, the "United" in United States is just becoming a failed experiment.

Barbara Anderson
Eliminate welfare to Exxon, Big Pharma, WalMart and the rest of the leach corporate entities and you would have solved a good portion of the economic problems. Raise taxes on those who don't contribute to the infrastructure but use it daily, and let them pay for it. But no. This guy wants to default on our debt. In other words, and this article is wrong here, defaulting on the debt is defaulting on payment for services, goods, people ALREADY used. Not future contracts. Lets really hurt this country, along with the 1/6 insurrection, lets tank the world economy.

Atheist in a Foxhole13h
Yeah...we need the Dept. of Education and the USEPA. Education should be an absolute priority and all the Red states will totally ignore environmental concerns. I'm not informed enough about the Dept. of Commerce and DOE to say we couldn't axe them with no repercussions...but $100 Billion is about 0.4% (four tenths of one percent) of the $23.16 Trillion National Debt (as of today). $100 Billion is a HUGE amount of money, but compared to $23.16 Trillion it's chump change. This "plan" is irrelevant. This guy is just pandering to bumpkins who don't understand math (Newsmax's demographic).

In what became a viral video in right-wing media, on Aug. 26 Scheller said: "People are upset because their senior leaders let them down. And none of them are raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying, 'We messed this up.'"

--------

That's possible: Scheller now faces a series of serious charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, including charges of "willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer" and "failure to obey an order."

The right-wing ecosystem roused itself, and financial aid from pro-Trump online forces poured in on Scheller's behalf, directed to his family and legal defense team.

Eddie Gallagher, who was accused of murdering an Iraqi POW in 2017 but later acquitted, stepped in with his Pipe Hitter Foundation, which to date has raised north of $2.5 million on Scheller's behalf. But here's the rub: After Scheller expressed mild criticism of the twice-impeached ex-president in a recent Facebook post, TrumpWorld donors are livid and want their money back.

This donor backlash appears to have been sparked by a Sept. 25 post in which Scheller said, "President Trump. I was told by everyone to kiss the ring because of your following and power. I refuse. While I respect your foreign policy positions, I hate how you divided the country. I don't need or want your help. You do not have the ability to pull [the] U.S. together. You may even win the next election. But your generation's time is running out."

Next Schiller took aim at Donald Trump Jr., the former president's eldest son, stating: "Tell your son to stop tweeting about me. Your whole family knows nothing about [the] U.S. or our sacrifices. I could never work with you. I'd rather sit in jail and be released with a dishonorable [discharge] than make compromises in my beliefs."

North Carolina teacher resigned - told Black students w/o constitution, they would B her field slaves

A North Carolina teacher resigned after word spread that she told Black students that without the Constitution, they would be her 'field slaves'

According to reporting from local NBC affiliate WITN-TV, the teacher asked Black students to raise their hands during a lesson about the Constitution. She then told the students who had their hands raised that if not for the Constitution, they would be her "field slaves."

WITN-TV saw a memo sent out to parents dated September 24 that admitted that there was a "racially insensitive lesson" that resulted in the teacher's resignation. In the note, Winterville Charter Academy Principal Annastasia Ryan wrote that "culturally sensitive training for the teacher that resigned will be provided, along with proactive training measures for our current and future staff members."

According to The Daily Beast, another memo from Ryan circulated on October 5, which said that a separate incident of racism by a student was being investigated.

2 men set off flares near friends wedding for social media, triggered hours long coast guard search

Evidence in DoJ documents included images from video the men shared on social media. (Department of Justice)

They Fired Flares at Wedding, Triggered a $104K Search
Rhode Island men have been fined $5K each

Two Rhode Island men have been fined $5,000 each for setting off flares near a friend's wedding reception last year—which isn't enough to cover the cost of the Coast Guard search operation that ensued. A Department of Justice release states that a search carried out after residents reported seeing red distress flares cost nearly $104,000. Local authorities and the Coast Guard participated in an hours-long search of waters off Block Island and the shoreline, the Washington Post reports. According to court documents, Perry Phillips and Benjamin Foster discharged the flares from a skiff as they approached the wedding reception at around 9:30pm on June 6 last year. According to court records, they fired three flares from a flare gun they had borrowed from a friend.

The distress signal was reported to the New Shoreham harbormaster, who contacted police and the Coast Guard. Authorities, who initially sought to recover the full cost of the search, say Phillips, 31, and Foster, 33, should have known better. At least one of the defendants, "by virtue of prior training and experience, knew that the flares were a sign or signal of maritime distress and should not be used absent such distress," and "both understood that it was improper to use them as they did," the DOJ says. The "needless and expensive" search involved a Coast Guard boat and two Coast Guard helicopters, authorities say.

Court documents state that Phillips and Foster, unaware that their actions had led to a search operation, posted video of themselves firing the flares on social media, reports the Providence Journal. A settlement agreement released Tuesday states that a civil complaint against the men will be dismissed when they have paid $5,000 each. The agreement states they have provided "sworn statements and documentation" that they lack the financial means to pay the costs of the search operation.

UCHealth denies kidney transplant to unvaccinated woman in stage 5 renal failure

UCHealth denies kidney transplant to unvaccinated woman in stage 5 renal failure

A Colorado woman with stage 5 renal failure is scrambling to find a new hospital to perform a kidney transplant after a health system in the state denied the transplant due to her and her donor being unvaccinated against the coronavirus.

"Here I am, willing to be a direct donor to her. It does not affect any other patient on the transplant list," Jaimee Fougner, Leilani Lutali’s kidney donor, told CBS4. "How can I sit here and allow them to murder my friend when I’ve got a perfectly good kidney and can save her life?"

Lutali said she received a letter from Colorado health system UCHealth at the end of September explaining that she and Fougner have 30 days to begin the vaccine process. They would be removed from the kidney transplant list if they refuse the shots.

"I said I’ll sign a medical waiver. I have to sign a waiver anyway for the transplant itself, releasing them from anything that could possibly go wrong," said Lutali. "It’s surgery, it’s invasive. I sign a waiver for my life. I’m not sure why I can’t sign a waiver for the COVID shot."

In August, Lutali said the hospital told her that the vaccine would not be a prerequisite to get the surgery.

"At the end of August, they confirmed that there was no COVID shot needed at that time," Lutali told CBS4. "Fast forward to Sept. 28. That’s when I found out. Jamie learned they have this policy around the COVID shot for both for the donor and the recipient."

Lutali met Fougner 10 months ago at a Bible study. Lutali said she has not received the vaccine because there are too many unknowns yet, while Fougner has not gotten the shot over religious reasons.
