Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin under fire for 'vile' quip following Paul Pelosi attack

https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Virginia-Governor-under-fire-for-Paul-Pelosi-quip-17542129.php

"Speaker Pelosi's husband, they had a break in last night in their house and he was assaulted, there's no room for violence anywhere, but we're going to send her back to be with him in California," Youngkin, a Republican, said. "That's what we're gonna go do."

Youngkin seems to be insinuating that, if Republicans retake the U.S. House, Speaker Pelosi would retire. He made his comments at a rally for Republican candidate Yesli Vega, who is running to unseat the prominent Democratic lawmaker Abigail Spanberger.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) seems to joke about the assassination attempt on Speaker Nancy Pelosi while campaigning for GOP congressional candidate Yesli Vega:

Perhaps sensing the tastelessness of Youngkin's remark, many members of the modest Virginia crowd remained silent while a few cheered.

Young voters MIA as Dem base flocks to vote early..median age of early voter 66

Young voters MIA as Dem base flocks to vote early
Early voting rates among young voters have dropped dramatically since 2020 compared to other groups.

Add this to the list of Democratic worries ahead of the midterms: Younger voters — a cornerstone of the party’s electoral coalition — make up a smaller share of early and absentee voters so far than they did in 2020.

More than 15 million voters have already cast their midterm ballots, according to the United States Elections Project. But young voters have contributed to a smaller fraction of that turnout compared to this time two years ago, according to interviews and a POLITICO analysis of voter data.

The party has had high hopes that younger voters motivated by the Supreme Court’s scuttling of abortion rights and President Joe Biden’s cancellation of some student debt would turn out in force — and help them to defy losses that the party in power typically suffers in midterm elections. They could still show up to the polls on Election Day. But their disappearance from the ranks of early voters so far puts Democrats at a disadvantage, because the party still has to chase their votes instead of banking them ahead of Nov. 8.

Sacramento school board candidate proposes replacing polio vax with ultraviolet light

https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article267226747.html

A candidate for a seat on a Sacramento school board aired vaccine misinformation and criticized state policies related to race and sex education at public meetings over the past year, videos show.

Monique Hokman, who publicly stated at a school board meeting in April 2022 that the polio vaccine could be replaced by ultraviolet light, is running for a seat on the Natomas Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Asked last week about how UV light could help a person who has already contracted polio, Hokman said, “I’m not a medical professional.”

Hokman’s views on vaccines have yet to be broadcast in the run-up to the Nov. 8 election. She has emphasized her commitment to “parental rights” on her website and in at least one public appearance, a term adopted by critics of masking and vaccine policies.

Mogul Convicted in ‘Varsity Blues’ Scandal Kills Himself

A flamboyant real estate mogul who went to jail for a month in the “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal killed himself at his Malibu home last week.

Robert Flaxman, 66, was one of dozens of well-heeled and celebrity parents caught in the federal investigation. He pleaded guilty to paying the scheme’s mastermind $75,000 to help his daughter cheat on the ACT college entrance test.

----

He threw over-the-top Beverly Hills pool parties, dated a Playboy model, was driven around in Rolls Royces, and used the alias Robert Emerald.

But Flaxman had a troubled daughter and he was desperate for her to land at a four-year college despite her poor grades and personal difficulties, his lawyer said in court papers.

He conspired with Rick Singer to have his daughter take the ACT at a Houston exam center where she got help answering questions from a corrupt proctor—and then wrote off his “donation” to Singer’s fake charity on his taxes.

Ye Destroyed His Empire To "Repeat Candace Owens Talking Points"

https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/444292-mike-dean-agrees-that-ye-destroyed-his-empire-to-repeat-candace-owens-talking-points

Adam22 recently chimed in on the matter, claiming that Ye destructed his music and fashion empire to spew right-wing narratives.

“Kanye spent 20 years building one of the biggest empires in music and fashion and threw it all away bc he wanted to repeat Candace Owens talking points on tv,” the podcast host tweeted. Adam pretty much summed it up as accurately within one tweet, which ultimately prompted a response from Mike Dean. “Amen,” he replied.

Unlike Mike Dean, Antonio Brown, the president of Donda Sports, unapologetically stood by Ye as more companies denounce his comments and actions. Brown issued a statement on Tuesday night expressing his support for Ye during this time and vowed to uphold his responsibilities with Donda Sports. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown and Aaron Donald announced that they would be leaving Donda Sports.
