Alabama Senator: Women Of Childbearing Age Need To Prove They're Not Pregnant To Buy Medical Marijua

Alabama State Sen. Larry Stutts (R) introduced a bill this week that would require women “of childbearing age” to present proof that they’re not pregnant in order to purchase medical cannabis products.
Warning To Females: The Following May Cause Your Blood To Boil

If passed, the bill would amend Alabama's 2021 medical marijuana law by requiring dispensaries to ask women between the ages of 25 and 50 to provide “a negative pregnancy test either from her physician or documentation from a certified medical lab that has been ordered by a physician licensed in Alabama.”

Marijuana Moment, which first reported this story, noted that documentation must be dated within 48 hours of purchase before a woman can buy medical cannabis and that women who are breastfeeding would also be barred from buying medical cannabis products.

“Any registered qualified patient who becomes pregnant shall report her pregnancy status to her registered certifying physician and shall be prohibited from obtaining medical cannabis throughout the pregnancy,” the legislation says.

Millions of Americans will have paid medical debt WIPED from credit reports unpaid debts under $500

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10627609/Credit-reporting-firms-strip-tens-billions-dollars-medical-debts-credit-reports.html

Millions of Americans will have their medical debt WIPED from credit reports: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion to strip billions of dollars from record - allowing people to get home and car loans previously denied

Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion all announced Friday they would collectively wipe 70 percent of a reported $195 billion deficit from their collection accounts

The change targets already paid debts still stuck in collections, which can mar a consumers' credit report for up to seven years even after they've been paid off

The firms are also planning to remove all unpaid debts of less than $500 in the first half of 2023 - a threshold that could rise, sources close to the matter said

Under the companies' new guidance, new unpaid medical debts won’t get added to credit reports for a full year even after being sent to collections

Outstanding medical costs can result in consumers being denied loans for cars homes, and college, as well as applications for property purchases and rentals
The change announced by the three credit giants - the world's three largest consumer credit agencies - seeks to aid those negatively affected by those debts

Walt Disney World regrets the "scalp em" performance of the "Indianettes" drill team.

https://twitter.com/zhaabowekwe/status/1504621921278865414

Officials at Walt Disney World said Friday that a performance by a visiting Texas high school drill team that used American Indian stereotypes, including chants of “scalp them," doesn't reflect the Florida resort's values.

The performance this week in the Magic Kingdom by the “Indianettes" drill team from Port Neches-Grove High School “did not reflect our core values, and we regret it took place," Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said in an emailed statement.

An audition tape that the school had provided in order to be selected to perform at the theme park resort was inconsistent with the actual performance, the statement said.

Wahler said new measures have been implemented to prevent that from happening again. She did not elaborate.

In a video of the performance posted on Twitter, members of the drill team are seen tapping their hands over their mouths and whooping, as a drum pounds in the background, in what is stereotypically called a “war cry.”

Following NC and SC, Virginia to ban the "Carolina squat" modification to vehicles

COLUMBIA, S.C. —
A bill making it illegal to significantly raise the front end of a truck or other vehicle while lowering the back end has passed the South Carolina Senate.

Senators voted 33-1 on Thursday to ban what is commonly called the “Carolina Squat.”

North Carolina passed a law to ban the modification last September

Supporters of the bill said the changes are dangerous because, with the front end raised and pointing up, it prevents a driver from seeing pedestrians or smaller cars in front of them.

On Friday, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced he plans to sign Senate Bill 777 which bans the dangerous “Carolina Squat” modification on vehicles.

Youngkin is scheduled to sign the bill banning the vehicle modification on Monday at 8 a.m.

The bill was introduced on an emergency basis after senators passed out flyers about the tragic death of Jody "BJ" Upton Jr. last month and how the potential dangers of the "Carolina Squat."

The trend is when vehicles are significantly lifted in the front so the front axle is lifted much higher than the rear axle.

Efforts to ban the truck were started by the family of BJ Upton, 27, who died in a Feb. 16, 2022 crash in Mecklenburg County. Upton died after his truck was hit by another truck traveling in the other direction crossed over the center line and crashed into his.

"The truck was smashed…Completely, almost like in a ball and it was like indented within the ditch," said Upton's future sister-in-law, Ann Taylor Kallam, who arrived at the scene shortly after it happened. "It was just a horrific sight."

The driver of the other truck, Anthony Newcomb of Chase City, 19, sustained minor injuries in the crash. Newcomb was charged with reckless driving.

Kallam said Newcomb's truck was a "Carolina Squat" and the family believes those modifications played a big role in the deadly outcome of the crash.

"We can't help but think, what if it was another vehicle? What if? What if that truck that hit him wasn't squatted? What if the truck wasn't squatted and the guy could actually see the road?" said Kallam.

Helping Women Pay for Abortion Would Be Illegal Under New Missouri Bill subject to civil action

Aproposal by Missouri Representative Mary Elizabeth Coleman aims to make it illegal for residents to help pay for an abortion or obtain insurance coverage for the procedure.

According to the bill's text, anyone who "knowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of [an] abortion, including paying for or reimbursing the costs of an abortion through insurance or otherwise" will be subject to civil action in court.

Although no concrete decisions have been made regarding the proposal, residents, providers, and assistance programs are speaking out against the bill. According to an Impact Research poll, around 75 percent out of 500 Missouri voters "want abortion to remain legal" in the state.

"It's trying to evade the laws of the state of Missouri," Coleman told the Associated Press. "Abortion is a really brutal practice and Illinois has chosen not to, in any way, provide protections for the unborn and women, and so we're trying to do everything we can to make sure Missourians are protected."
