The woman who accused Emmitt Till of whistling at her is still alive..Till family want her arrested

https://www.npr.org/2022/07/09/1110560092/emmett-till-family-arrest-white-woman-1955-warrant

Days after the discovery of an unserved warrant from 1955, advocates and relatives of Emmett Till say they are pressing authorities to arrest and charge the white woman who may be responsible for his murder and kidnapping.

Priscilla Sterling, Till's cousin, urged Mississippi Fourth Circuit Court District Attorney W. Dewayne Richardson during a news conference Thursday to issue the warrant for Carolyn Bryant Donham's arrest — nearly 70 years after Till was kidnapped and killed.

Richardson's office would be responsible for handling a potential prosecution if the warrant for Donham's arrest is served.

"I know that over a period of time, 67 years, nothing has been done as far as this warrant," Sterling told reporters. "The family wants Carolyn Bryant to face justice. And by justice, we want her to at least come here and defend herself."

The family feels both the federal government, along with the state of Mississippi, are "protecting [Bryant]" because of authorities telling Richardson to "not move forward on the warrant," Sterling told reporters.

_______

The arrest warrant for Donham, identified as "Mrs. Roy Bryant," was dated Aug. 29, 1955. The warrant itself was discovered last month by searchers inside a file folder that was placed inside a box, Leflore County Circuit Clerk Elmus Stockstill told the AP.

Till, who was just 14 years old at the time, was abducted, tortured and killed in 1955 after he was accused of whistling at and grabbing Donham, a white woman, while visiting relatives in Mississippi.

It was California's forgotten mass shooting. But for victims, the 'hell' never ends

It was California’s forgotten mass shooting. But for victims, the ‘hell’ never ends

RANCHO TEHAMA RESERVE, Calif. — Gage Elliott became an orphan on Nov. 14, 2017. He was 7 years old.
That morning, his father and paternal grandmother, who were raising him together in a modest house at the end of a gravel road, were gunned down during a mass shooting across this remote north-central California community. Over two days, according to the FBI, five people were slain and 14 others were wounded, including five children at Rancho Tehama Elementary School, before the gunman, 44-year-old Kevin Janson Neal, took his own life.

Danny Elliott and Diana Steele were killed five years after Gage’s mother died in an accident, said Sissy Feitelberg, Gage’s maternal grandmother. They were the second and third people shot to death by Neal, who lived in a light-blue mobile home barely 100 yards from their property.

Gage never spent another night in that house on Bobcat Lane where he once played in the yard with his father. He never went back to Rancho Tehama Elementary School after that day, when he and approximately 100 other students were locked down after staffers heard gunfire nearby and quickly hustled them in from recess.

He never returned to the classroom where the gunman unsuccessfully tried to open the door, which had been locked just seconds earlier. He never saw the school’s new windows, which replaced the ones shattered by Neal’s bullets, or the repairs to the bullet holes in its cream-colored siding and turquoise-painted beams.

Gage never again saw fellow students who hid under their desks while Neal fired clip after clip at the school, including a 6-year-old who survived being shot in the chest by a bullet that traveled through a classroom wall. And he never saw the banner draped across the school’s front columns that declares “Rancho Strong” in big block letters.

“His life changed that day forever. It was gone, gone. It ripped his world,” said Feitelberg, who moved her grandson out of Rancho Tehama Reserve after the shooting. “He has not, and he will not, talk about his father. It’s definitely affected Gage, and it will for the rest of his life.”

Another deadly Tesla crash.. Teslas are involved in 70% of autopilot.crashes

https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Californians-dead-Tesla-crash-Florida-17293157.php

Two people from California's Central Coast died Wednesday when their 2015 Tesla crashed into a tractor-trailer on the Florida interstate, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

According to the outlet, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said that the Tesla crashed “for unknown reasons” when it mysteriously drifted into the Paynes Prairie Rest Area and hit the back of a parked freightliner carrying Walmart products. The vehicle was being driven by a 66-year-old woman; a 67-year-old man was in the passenger seat

__________

While it still hasn’t been confirmed whether the Teslas in either crashes were on autopilot, the Washington Post says that its software has been implicated in 273 reported crashes over roughly the past year — making up a staggering 70% of the 392 total crashes involving automated driving systems and causing the most fatalities and serious injuries.

Highland Park gunman's family was in turmoil for years leading up to parade shooting

Highland Park gunman's family was in turmoil for years leading up to parade shooting

(CNN)When Bob's Pantry and Deli opened for business in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park in 2008, loyal customers lined up in the snow at 4 a.m. to support Bob Crimo, who was striking out on his own after years running a convenience store franchise. Photos from opening day showed customers hoisting massive sandwiches and Crimo posing with his beaming family -- including his eight-year-old son Robert Crimo III, who went by Bobby.

The deli quickly became a popular local fixture: a hangout spot for teenagers, a friendly gathering place for the neighborhood, and a pit stop for an affordable, delicious lunch.
But behind the scenes, the Crimo family was in turmoil. Police reports show that officers were regularly called to their home over domestic disputes between Crimo and his wife, and in 2019, police briefly confiscated a collection of knives after then 18-year-old Bobby threatened to "kill everyone."

More recently, after the once-bustling deli closed, the family appeared to fall into dire financial straits, with foreclosure cases proceeding against both of the homes they owned and Bob Crimo telling a judge several weeks ago he was on food stamps.

""""""""

Crimo could be eccentric: One time, a friend said, he competed with another local restaurant owner to see which business could go longer without replacing any lightbulbs -- until both stores were almost completely dark.

Crimo's shop closed after 7-Eleven bought out the White Hen Pantry chain. But Crimo reopened in a new location under his own name, and his loyal clientele followed.
Still, there were signs of trouble in the family. One longtime customer and friend of Crimo's — who asked to remain anonymous to speak candidly about the family — remembered that he and his wife, Denise Pesina, would have heated arguments in the deli, even in front of customers.

"It was awkward for people," the friend said. "I remember thinking, if that's the public arguments, I can only imagine the private ones."

Vigilante climate activists deflates Bay Area SUV tires overnight.."dont take it personally"

Vigilante climate activist group deflates Bay Area SUV tires overnight

ATTENTION – Your gas guzzler kills. We have deflated one or more of your tires. You’ll be angry, but don’t take it personally. It’s not you, it’s your car.”
8 The letters placed on windshields, along with said deflated tires, are what greeted several Bay Area drivers on the morning of July 5. The letters contained a message written by an international group that deflates the tires of SUVs and other larger vehicles in the name of fighting climate change.

“We did this because driving around urban areas in your massive vehicle has huge consequences for others,” the leaflet says. “We’re taking actions into our own hands because our governments and politicians will not.”

Oz campaign baffles and frustrates GOP. Trailing in polls and leaving airwaves to Fetterman

https://www.newser.com/story/322690/ozs-race-confounds-state-gop.html

John Fetterman hasn't been on the Pennsylvania campaign trail since mid-May, when he had a stroke and was hospitalized. Still, the Democratic nominee has managed to set the pace of the state's Senate campaign, Politico reports, by buying airtime—helped by the TV absence of his Republican opponent. Mehmet Oz has upset some in his party who expected a brisk start to the general election campaign once he was declared the primary winner after a recount. But he's trailing in the polls, and frustration is building. "I don’t have much confidence in their campaign," said the GOP chairman in a county where Oz did poorly. He offered to help the campaign in his area. "And I don't even hear back," he said.

Brett Kavanaugh chased from steakhouse by pro choice people

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10995259/Protesters-force-Supreme-Court-justice-Brett-Kavanaugh-sneak-DC-steakhouse.html

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is forced to escape D.C. steakhouse with his security detail after pro-choice protesters 'harassed' him during dinner and told the manager to throw him out

Kavanaugh was having dinner at Morton's when activists showed up and told the manager to kick him out, two weeks after he was in the majority that overturned Roe v. Wade.

The justice was then forced to leave through the back door, Politico's Playbook reported, as fury continues to spread across the country over the court's recent decisions on gun rights and abortion.

Hershell Walker lied to own campaign about secret kids..campaign tests him

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/herschel-walker-lied-own-campaign-174000367.html

It isn’t hard to figure out what drew Donald Trump to Herschel Walker. The Heisman Trophy winner, like the former president who endorsed him for Senate in Georgia, is a habitual liar.

It’s been revealed just in the past few months that Walker has lied about his academic record, that’s he has lied about his business record, and even that he has a secret son he doesn’t see. It was then revealed a few weeks ago that he has two more secret children. The Daily Beast reported on Thursday that Walker has been lying to his own campaign about all of these children.

The news of Walker’s first secret son may have been reported last month, but his campaign obtained documents proving he had a 10-year-old son late last year. The campaign didn’t tell him about the documentation they’d obtained when they asked him the rumors last December, according to The Daily Beast. Walker lied, saying the rumors were false, just as his campaign expected. He only admitted to the secret child after they presented him with the documentation. Once news of the child became public, his campaign asked him if there were any other children. He insisted there weren’t. The existence of the two other secret children was reported days later.
