Anti-vax mom says she gave out lollipops tainted with chickenpox for Halloween: 'We have the packaging down pat'
An anti-vaccination mother took to social media on Wednesday to share her decision to give out tainted lollipops for Halloween.
The Australian mother, who identifies herself online as Sarah Walker RN, shared in the private Facebook group "Stop Mandatory Vaccination" that her son, whose name has been redacted, contracted chickenpox and that she planned to "help" other children in the community by spreading the virus through candy.
"So my beautiful son [redacted] has the chickenpox at the moment and we've both decided to help others with natural immunity this Halloween!" Walker wrote. "We have the packaging open and closing down pat and can't wait to help others in our community."
Walker's message was screenshot and shared on Light for Riley, a page dedicated to protecting "babies & families from vaccine-preventable diseases" in honor of Riley Hughes, a baby boy who tragically died from whooping cough in March 2015.
"Have you ever seen something that instantaneously makes your skin crawl?" the post, written by Riley's father, Greg Hughes, reads.

Photos posted on social media show Vice President Mike Pence was present for the Halloween party at the EEOB. However, a spokesperson for the vice president said he did not go beyond his office, which is on the second floor.
The party, which took place inside the office building used by White House staff, included the families of executive-branch employees and VIP guests inside and outside government. Even though many of the attendees were members of President Trumps administration, not everyone thought the Halloween game was a treat.
Horrified. We were horrified, said a person who was there and requested anonymity to avoid professional retaliation.
The Eisenhower Executive Office Building stands across from the White House and houses a large portion of the West Wing support staff and is home to the vice presidents ceremonial office. The Build the Wall mural was on the first floor, outside the speechwriters office and next to the office of digital strategy and featured red paper bricks, each bearing the name of a child.

A federal judge has tossed a $300 million defamation lawsuit filed against three national news outlets by Americas self-styled toughest sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Joe Arpaio files $300M defamation suit against 3 news organizations
A judge in Washington on Thursday dismissed the suit filed in December by the former six-term Maricopa County sheriff, alleging that CNN, the Huffington Post and Rolling Stone published inaccuracies that hurt his chances to win a US Senate seat and to procure necessary funding from the Republican establishment and donors, the Arizona Republic reports.
But Arpaios suit failed to prove actual malice, US District Judge Royce Lamberth wrote in his opinion, while acknowledging the burden of doing so is a difficult one to meet.
But without this safeguard, the threat of lawsuits would chill our precious First Amendment rights to freely engage in political discourse, Lamberth said.

Virginia Is On The Brink Of Cementing Its Democratic Status
Republicans risk losing their last footholds of power in the Old Dominion.
Democrats are poised to take control of both of Virginias state legislative chambers on Tuesday, bringing the state under unified Democratic control for the first time in a quarter century.
The party needs to pick up three seats in the House of Delegates and two seats in the state Senate to take control of both chambers. Polling indicates that those margins are well within Democrats reach.
Democratic takeovers in both legislative chambers would have far-reaching implications for the states policies and politics. The party, which also controls the governors office, would have the chance to pursue a host of liberal priorities like an increase in the states minimum wage, laws protecting LGBTQ rights and abortion rights and tougher gun safety regulations.
It would also mark the culmination of Virginias yearslong transformation from a conservative state ― which once was the seat of the Confederacy ― to a progressive one that is not only reliably Democratic in presidential elections, but whose state politics are heavily influenced by a cohort of liberal Democrats that would have been unrecognizable even a decade ago.

Its like nothing we have come across before: UK intelligence officials shaken by Trump administrations requests for help with counter-impeachment inquiry
As impeachment inquiries heat up, presidents people are busy pursuing a counter offensive aimed at discrediting Muellers findings that Russia interfered in 2016 election
As the impeachment hearings get more and more alarming for Donald Trump, with damning new evidence emerging every day, there appears to be increasing urgency in the parallel counteroffensives under way by the presidents team in an attempt to defend him.
There are attacks against the witnesses giving testimony by Trump and his supporters, including attempts to smear Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, Ukraine expert at the National Security Council who this week provided crucial testimony about Trumps telephone call to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. And there have been the extraordinary scenes of congress Republicans breaking into the proceedings and disrupting them.
At the same time, overshadowed by the publicity around the impeachment, is the ever-broadening investigation by William Barr, the attorney general, which the White House sees as a game-changer. An investigation which is seeking nothing less than to overturn the conclusion of the US intelligence services and special counsel Robert Mueller that Russia interfered in the last US presidential election.
This has now been designated a criminal investigation with power of subpoena and the possibility of prison sentences for those who have been allegedly involved in criminal actions, although exactly what these criminal actions entail remains unclear.
It may also seem odd that Trump, having repeatedly claimed that the Mueller report was a complete and total exoneration of him over Russiagate, is now going to such lengths to try and discredit it.
