FL sets yet another record with 2700+ new cases yesterday.

Does anyone know the percent positive?

This is concerning and DeSantis is not being transparent.

3rd consecutive record day for positive COVID rates in FL.

And it’s not even close.

14 June 2581 Positive cases
13 June 1902 Positive cases
12 June 1698 Positive cases (precious record was in April)

Can that be explained solely as a function of more testing? I doubt it.

STAY HOME! FL surges to highest positive coronavirus test rate.

1,698 new cases. Another article I read today from the Orlando Sentinel said we are up to a 6.1% positive test rate which is higher than the 5.3% average.

And if you have to go out, stay 6 feet away from people and wear a dang mask!

FL Supreme Court rejects ballot initiative to abolish assault weapons ban

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a proposed constitutional amendment seeking to ban possession of assault-style weapons does not meet requirements to go before voters.

Supporters of the Ban Assault Weapons NOW initiative did not submit enough petition signatures to make it on the 2020 ballot but needed support from the Supreme Court to go before voters in 2022. The group began the initiative after 17 people were killed in the 2018 mass shooting at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

We need to sweep out the FL GOP! They are pure evil and they are not listening to the majority of the people!

When will Floridians figure out how to vote in their best interests?

No-bid FL COVID contracts flow to DeSantis donors.

Millions of dollars in no-bid state contracts issued as part of Florida’s COVID-19 response have gone to a trio of firms tied to men who’ve contributed hefty sums to support Gov. Ron DeSantis’ political ambitions.

By DeSantis’ emergency decree on March 9, state agencies are allowed to suspend normal purchasing regulations and dole out millions of taxpayer dollars to companies without going through formal bidding processes that are typically required.

Among those contracts are $2.5 million in testing agreements with BioReference Laboratories. OPKO Health, chaired by South Florida billionaire and philanthropist Phillip Frost, acquired BioReference in 2015 for nearly $1.5 billion.

Frost is also a major DeSantis donor, contributing $75,000 to Friends of Ron DeSantis in 2018, along with another $2,700 to the governor’s election campaign itself. He has also given heavily to Republican causes in the last 10 years including $200,000 in 2012 to the conservative Super PAC American Crossroads, and more than $120,000 to the Republican National Committee.

Frost last year agreed to pay a $5.5-million fine to settle SEC charges that he engaged in a “pump-and-dump” market manipulation scheme.

State contract database records show the Executive Office of the Governor entered into a $1.5 million testing contract with BioReference in late March, though this was later revised down to $500,000. Later, in April, the Florida Department of Health entered into a $3.8 million testing contract with BioReference. This was also later revised down to $2 million. No explanation was offered for those revisions.

Frost clams up about COVID contracts

We need 100M Americans to take the streets this Saturday and Sunday.

Just shut the nation down. We need peaceful protests in every village and hamlet. We need to build off the Women’s March and the March for Our Lives.

We’ve been out in force for a week but it’s not enough.

This has been a historic statement. But we need another historic statement.

I’m tired of the inaction. We need to mobilize the young people and vote. I have 2 kids but it’s time for the families to get out and help back up the youth who’ve I’ve mostly seen take the streets.

We must have police reform. We must address mass incarceration. We must address racist leaders and speak truth to power.

I don’t know if we can make it happen but we need the largest rally in the history of the planet. The Women’s March was started on social media. Do you think we can surpass that by 100X?

Let’s build a better future for every child in America.
