Thank you, JHB - is a list to treasure

And I look forward to when your toons threads can resume.

I'm wondering if this sort of 'logic' is behind the FAA's new proposed rules

The public comments close tomorrow, March 2. The new rule would require drones over half a pound to broadcast their flying location over the internet. Is another instance where I’m forced to question who’s safety and privacy they’re truly protecting when the proposal fails tests of practicality, reality, and proportionality.

Kickin' to journal

Good points and links to reference

Or you could take it as a set of criticisms to consider

In an effort to make your preferred candidate stronger. I think this OP is a fairly thoughtful rundown of weaknesses that need to be addressed. Performance in the primary is not the same as how he’ll do in the general election.

You’ll see I’m supporting Biden, but that doesn’t mean I’m not working to find as much mental flexibility, and dare I say, enthusiasm, as possible to sell Bernie as best I can if it comes down to it.

Dismissing these types of points or Bernie’s fanny-wagging tweet of a false equivalency between two starkly different parties isn’t going to make him a stronger candidate for energizing all Democrats for the GE.

I’m gonna journal Nance’s OP to reference, as I do think it’s helpful in my efforts. Also, helps to feel heard through a highly readable post.

That’s my opinion, and you’re certainly welcome to dismiss it out of hand as well.

Lemme also welcome you to DU:

Journaling

So I can read this again. I’ve said variants of the sentiment in your first sentence quite a few times in my offline life.

Have been a more conscientious shopper since tRump took office

Have foregone buying a tv, and I’ve passed on several pairs of shoes. Am wearing out old purses/bags. I like thrift store shopping.

I use vinegar, dish soap, and occasionally regular bleach as my primary cleaning agents around the house. Are cheap and I’m not buying as much from chemical companies. Was done with oven cleaner years ago - that shit is toxic awful. I could go on about big chem, but won’t.

Adopted using cloth napkins before he took office, and don’t buy nearly as many paper towels. I don’t bother folding them, bleh, no - I just shove them in a drawer.

Bought carbon offsets last year for a flight. And, am making efforts to drive less/purchase gas less often.

It’s as much a protest against tRump as it is about conserving in the face of global warming. I still buy stupid stuff, but less than I used to.

So, you’re not alone - is already happening in my household.

During the first segment, she discussed barr's timeline and involvement in this previously reported:

Prosecutors unlikely to charge Trump Org executives, sources say
By Erica Orden and Kara Scannell, CNN
Updated 7:17 PM ET, Fri July 12, 2019

(CNN)A federal investigation into whether Trump Organization executives violated campaign-finance laws appears to be wrapping up without charges being filed, according to people familiar with the matter.

For months, federal prosecutors in New York have examined whether company officials broke the law, including in their effort to reimburse Michael Cohen for hush-money payments he made to women alleging affairs with his former boss, President Donald Trump.
In recent weeks, however, their investigation has quieted, the people familiar with the inquiry said, and prosecutors now don't appear poised to charge any Trump Organization executives in the probe that stemmed from the case against Cohen.

I've really enjoyed ❤️ week

And would like to give all my heart-givers an extra . Had a nicer week just because you spent a moment on my behalf.

Has been good to hear from some of those who don’t post as much as they used to — am looking at you, Maeve 💙.

I’m so very fond of DU and DUers, it’s not even funny. Except for when it is, and then, sometimes it’s maddening, but I love it here all the same.

Fight for them to do this the right way: subscribe to a McClatchy paper

Right now. Today.

Here’s an example of why I’m a digital subscriber to the Miami Herald:

No signs, no gate, few guards: Are Mar-a-Lago intruders actually trespassing?
BY NICHOLAS NEHAMAS AND SARAH BLASKEY
FEBRUARY 12, 2020 10:20 AM

The lack of security infrastructure at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club seemingly contributed Wednesday to the exoneration of a Chinese woman accused of trespassing.

Lu Jing, 56, told the court Tuesday that she understood club security “didn’t want me there” after she went through the open front gate of the private, members-only club in Palm Beach on Dec. 18. She left, only to return to the president’s primary residence through an un-gated service road accessible from South Ocean Boulevard. Prosecutors called Lu’s escapade into Mar-a-Lago a “calculated decision.”

Also, while on their site, I broke one of my rules and clicked on some banner ads (even though I don’t want any cowboy boots - like ever again in my life).

Oh yeah, I've enjoyed seeking those handles

I remember from years ago or some frequent posters that maybe somehow landed in the doghouse just recently who I think should have more, and then there’s those who I might disagree with a lot of the time, but nonetheless make me think a little harder about some something. I have enjoyed the process, and I feel like I know personalities on DU better for it.

I received more hearts yesterday, and it really is a lovely boost. I’m still finding more folks to give hearts to this morning, and have already gone well over my original budget, but meh, it’s worth it - is too much fun.

All that said, am glad hearts week is for a limited time, as I like the rather sublime just-another-voice quality that DU provides.

Happy Valentines DU ❤️
