Trump is coming back to Washington and everyone wonders why. What if he plans to crash the Senate session on January 6 when the Electoral College vote is to be certified? He’s President Chaos, after all, and wouldn’t that create maximum chaos?
He’s told his followers, “see you on January 6.” The spectacle of him crashing the session would be a great way to insure that his followers, indeed the whole country and the world would see him at his raging finest.
I’m not sure if Senate rules allow the President access to their chambers without invitation. But Trump has said, “I’m the President, I can do what I want.” And who would stop him? McConnell? Would the Turtle tell the Sergeant at Arms to block the door? Would the Sergeant at Arms do it? How would the Secret Service react? What if a scuffle ensued? Would Republicans rush to his aid? Would violence break out on the floor of the Senate?
Picture Trump rushing the podium, grabbing the box of Electoral College votes, and tossing them all to the floor, declaring them fake, fraudulent, illegal, moot, null and void! Ballots, or whatever is in the box, get trashed and many disappear. What happens to the vote then? The clerks count what’s left and then, well, who knows?
Face it. This is just the kind of stunt Trump would pull. He’s desperate. He’s deranged. He’s President Chaos! Anything could happen.
Reframe: instead of "widespread", use "significant"...
Every time a talking head/pundit says “widespread “ in context of “no widespread fraud has blah, blah, blah..” it validate idea that substantial fraud MIGHT have occurred. It suggests, in fact, that some fraud has occurred. (Which we have to acknowledge is likely given what we know about Republicans and recent elections).
Reframing as “ no SIGNIFICANT fraud has occurred (or whatever) acknowledges that fraud is always a possibility, (which is logically the case) but in THIS case, it hasn’t t hasn’t affected the outcome
This frame acknowledges fears about the veracity of election results but suggests that in THIS case, evidence exists that makes those fears unfounded
I think it a small but potent point that can help our messaging
Pundits getting it wrong again: Trump is working the next step
The pundits are saying trumps delay in conceding and his bs about fraud is because he’s having a hard time accepting reality, that he’s never lost before and doesn’t know how to handle it etc. That’s flat out wrong. It doesn’t give him credit for his mendacity, his lust for power, his evil.
Trump is setting the stage for continuing bad action down the line. He’s keeping his base fired up with the notion that Biden is illegitimate, that trump has been wronged, that they, personally have been screwed by the Dems, the deep state, the system, brown people, black people, feminazis. He’s signaling to the militias and the types that are fascinated by them that their time will come because all of this imagined wrong doing has to be avenged, will be avenged, and then everything will finally be great again.
Trumps current behavior is really, really dangerous.
There seems to be almost no way to deal with this shit. I try to think of what the average German could have done to forestall Naziism. I’ve read a little on the topic. Many Germans said they did everything they could, but it didn’t matter. And at one point, they just had to shut up and lay low.
There must be something. Talk me down, please.
For your Covid denier friends: a POLST form
If you know a Covid denier, send them this via the most appropriate social media, or even print it out and hand it to them:

If you're serious about not worrying about catching Covid, then you should fill out a POLST form. A POLST form is like a will that tells medical providers what level of care you want applied to you should you get sick with Covid 19 or the flu, or whatever.
Here are the level-of-care options on the form. I'm sure you'll want to stand firm in your beliefs by checking item number 2 or even number 3:
1: Full Treatments(required if choose CPRin Section A). Goal: Attempt to sustain life by all medically effective means.Provide appropriate medical and surgical treatments as indicated to attempt to prolong life, includingintensive care.
2: Selective Treatments. Goal: Attempt to restore function while avoiding intensive care and resuscitation efforts (ventilator, defibrillation and cardioversion). May use non-invasive positive airway pressure, antibiotics and IV fluids as indicated. Avoid intensive care. Transfer to hospital if treatment needs cannot be met in current location.
3: Comfort-focused Treatments. Goal: Maximize comfort through symptom management; allow natural death. Use oxygen, suction and manual treatment of airway obstruction as needed for comfort. Avoid treatments listed in full or select treatments unless consistent with comfort goal. Transfer to hospital only if comfort cannot be achieved in current setting.
If you don't believe in Covid 19, if you don't believe in wearing masks, or if you think we should open everything up right away, then pick option 3 so that if you get sick, we can quickly free up your hospital bed for people who don't share your views.
POLST stands for Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment. There is a form like the one shown available in California from the Emergency Medical Services Authority. There is a very similar national model form that other states have or are in the process of adopting. I'm guessing most states have something like it. There are lots of on-line resources, including at polst.org
Pennsylvania needs to go the state House right now!
Republicans are trying to push through a new commission that would have the power to screw up This election. They’re trying to do this right now. With no notice. It’s a giant power grab and threat to democracy. It’s going on right now!
If you live anywhere near the State House, go there. Demonstrate your support for the sanctity of the vote. This is a big deal and feet on the street could make the difference

I want to be able to print and post an 8 1/2 x 11 window poster of the Biden/Harris 2020 logo. Went to JoeBiden.com and navigated to their templates and there are plenty of Joe Biden for President templates, but none of the two candidates. Googled "biden harris poster template" and got lots of commercial offers but none for what I wanted,
There have got to be a bunch of templates floating around. Can someone direct me?
I'd also like a bumper sticker that I can print 3 up on 8 1/2 x 11 label stock. Again, can someone help?

Obama's take down of Trump is historic
No President has ever publicly trashed a sitting President the way Obama just did. Let other Democrats observe and understand that these times are different. The era of comity and deference is over. We can't afford to vote by mail!
Yes, voting by mail would be safer given the threat of Covid-19
Yes, voting by mail would be a lot more convenient
Yes, voting by mail has been proven to be secure, efficient, and economical by multiple state over multiple election cycles.
But that was before trump.
Trump has installed a lackey as Postmaster General and he’s working hard and fast to make the Postal Service into an arm of the trump administration. Just today we learn that he’s fired 12 senior executives in the Postal Service. These are logistics guys, not political guys. Their entire professional skill set is how you make mail move fast around the country, and around the world. Going back to the time of Benjamin Franklin, the US Postal Service has been the envy of countries everywhere.
Those of you who still use it know that if you’ve got a late birthday card that needs to go from Kansas City, Kansas to your Mom in San Francisco, California, it’s probably going to get there in two days, thus saving your ass. Same thing if it needs to go from NYC to bum-f’ck where ever. Not anymore.
Trump’s new guy Is getting rid of expertise in the Service for one reason, to slow the mail and, especially, to be sure that when absentee or mail-in ballots hit the mailboxes, they get sloooowed. Or lost. Or whatever. But for sure, they don’t get counted.
Which is why we can’t vote by mail. There is just too big a chance that those ballots won’t be counted. We have to vote in person.
Yes, we have to crawl over broken glass to get to the polls. Yes, we have to personally take our abstentee, or mail-in, or early-voting ballots to our registrar of voters. The mailbox is now a black hole.
Ok, yes. I suppose that if you mail your ballot early enough, like this month, there’s a good chance it will make it. But do you know how easy it is for the PO’s automated systems to sort ballots, in their standardized envelopes, into distribution routes that are, shall we say, less than optimized?
But we can’t rely on that. We’ve got to plan for the guaranteed likelyhood that trump and his postmaster general will do everything they can to make sure that our mail in ballots aren’t received in time.
Plan for not voting by mail if there is any, any, way you can avoid it. It’s just to risky.
