The run off has to occur because no one got 50% of the vote? Is that right?
So, what happens if the same thing happens again? I already see where a fuss can once again be made over the count. But, I keep seeing polls where they are awfully close. What does Georgia law say about a second run off?

I have a serious question.
I don't want to be impugned for my question or ignorance. I don't think anger is appropriate, but I don't mind frank opinions.
First part: When someone has one parent who is Black, and one parent of another race, why are they Black? We had Obama, who was Black, the first Black President, but he was actually half White. Now, we have Kamala, who is half Black, and half Asian, yet she is the first Black female VP. I don't know what box they would have checked, but if they checked "Other," would they have been wrong?
Second part: I have a picture of ancient relatives. I inherited this picture. It is a portrait of a family. A man, wife, and two children. On the back of the picture are their names, and all with the same last name. The wife is clearly black.
Now, I don't think it's a case of wishful thinking, like you'd look at someone brown and say, "That person is Black." This woman appears to be black.
There is no mention of her in family lore. I thought for awhile that maybe back then, somehow, slave owners included nannies in pictures; but the back of the picture has them with the same name. I know that back then some slaves ended up with the owner's name. But, this doesn't seem like that situation. She is sitting next to him on equal footing with the children arrayed behind them. I can't tell a thing from the children, but that doesn't mean a thing.
The next part is, if she was Black and he was White, would he have married her? Back then, things were different, and could that have been done even?
My mama raised me to be nonprejudiced; she came from the South and worked it out that she would NOT teach her child to think or feel that way. It is remarkable that she did that, but she told me herself that was what she wanted. And, she was right.
But, I am curious about this picture. You know, if you have one drop of Jewish blood, you are Jewish. Something like that. Do Black people feel the same? Cause, I gotta tell ya, I am lily white, as all my family was. We have Native American blood from my father's side, but we are not NA--not enough to move into a casino, ya know...
In some quarters, it is a sin to be White. I will not apologize for being White. I believe in inclusion and family togetherness, no matter who you are. People are people. I just want to understand about my personal ancestors.
I sort of don't want my DNA on the registry, but I'm tempted. Anybody have any ideas on these things? Any comment will be welcome. But please don't yell at me.
My old cat
refuses to get down off my lap. I think I wore her out all year with my anger and cursing. I get up and down a lot while working, and she clings to my lap with her claws.
I tell her, "You're a cat and I am a human. I win." But, while she doesn't appear to be ill, she is sleeping soundly all day and most of the night, choosing my lap as her bed. It feels all right. I don't mind, but I feel guilty when I have to dislodge her.
Anyone who thinks that animals don't have emotions should hear this cat with her cat noises. I admit I can be guilty of projecting a human-like quality onto my animals, but this cat has called me a few names today. And, yesterday.
Plus, she now wants to eat my coffee cup pancakes. After a lifetime of meat and gravy products, she now competes for my food.
What is happening?? I hope my general demeanor can pick up after January 20th, when we are safe again. Maybe I dragged her down as we shared the last four years.
My gosh! I just remembered! I have catnip bubbles! I know catnip works on her. Since the CBD I tried had absolutely no effect on me, I wonder if she would mind if I tried her catnip?
Maybe--if llamas can have effective antibodies--the catnip bubbles might protect me? Worth trying...

Sydney Barber
Midshipman 1st Class Sydney Barber of Lake Forest, Ill., has been chosen as the highest-ranked member of the student body at the United States Naval Academy. She is a beautiful, sharp, articulate young woman who happens to be Black. I don't think she is the first female, but she is the first Black female to become Brigade Commander.
She is 21 years old.
Face Mask Advertising
People are missing a good thing. Well, making lemonade out of lemons. After the pandemic is over, there won't be call to wear a mask. So now, you get to wear a fancy mask. Praying it doesn't last long...
People have worn masks with all kinds of graphics on them, expressing themselves. Why not pay to advertise your company? Walking billboards. Estimate how much to pay per impression, and then someone wears their mask with your advertisement on it.
People made businesses out of the need for masks. Take it one step further. Good quality mask with your ad on it. Deduct it as a business expense.
I wouldn't be offended to see someone working for money like that. As someone told me, it would add up. Proper covering of nose and mouth, too.
Riverside Sheriff Statement
The public speech by the Sheriff in full uniform under the color of authority is appalling. He denies the need for a lockdown and mocks the effort.
What in the world are we supposed to do? Just go out, get infected, and die for a good time?? Why does HE think that he should come forth and tell people this?
He should be made to visit a hospital and see what the staff and patients are going through.
Wear your masks, social distance yourself, wash your hands, and be as patient as you can be. Stay home! The virus isn't the new state of the world; we will learn its secrets and we will beat it.
And, I know that people are worried to death about how they will get along. Well, Biden/Harris will be along shortly. Fight! Support your local food banks. And, don't listen to some jerk with a star on his chest that tells you it isn't necessary to do these things. He's an idiot!
