Good Morning, Merry Christmas!

Coal again. I wish he wouldn't check that list twice...

Send me a bunch of money, quickly

I want to audit the Texas 2020 election results. I have been told by a reliable source that Biden actually won Texas by a wide margin and I think that we have to get to the bottom of it for the safety and integrity of future elections... I have never done an election audit, but I do have experience with an IRS audit. I will have the legal firm of Dewey, Cheatem and Howe working closely with me in case we have to come up against any of the stellar Trump legal teams.

Don't go sending any little five or ten dollar checks either, I need to raise millions in a hurry. Just to start things off, I am writing a check to myself for $10,000.00, now that should boost your confidence in my sincerity to correct a massive injustice.

Come on, donate now, we are going to set the grass roots of Texas on fire!

Lack of mask mandates and lack of people voluntarily participating has been good for Amazon

They are building a new distribution center 45 miles from me. That means I will get my stuff a day quicker than the already fast service! I am not a fan of mega-business, but they are providing a lifeline for me today.

Poor policies must be producing lousy results for local businesses. I am not eating out, not shopping locally for anything that I can buy online (which is most everything). My driving has been cut by probably 80%, so the reduced mileage will be reflected in less repairs and things like tires, gasoline purchases, etc., so the loss gets spread wide. I wouldn't consider going to a play or movie, much less a sporting event.

Sensible policies, more vaccinations, and wearing mask are the only thing that gets me back to mom and pop shopping, and it ain't happening here in Florida. Sometimes, I think the businesses that drive the politics are too damn shortsighted for their own good, for once you get in the habit of almost exclusive online shopping it may be a habit that is hard to break. Another issue that will work against the locals is that I have noticed which businesses behaved right and which haven't and I will be remembering long after Covid is no longer a serious threat. Some local businesses have lost me as a customer for life, now I know that one lost customer doesn't bring down the store, but stores spend a lot of money advertising to bring in new customers, so it must be somewhat important to them, especially the locals that are surviving on slim margins while struggling to compete with the national giants.

Main street USA has been dying a slow death for decades; supporting bad decisions made during this health crisis is not going to help them a bit.

Said goodbye to selling on eBay

I have sold many (perhaps tens) of thousands of dollars on eBay over the years, and never resented their cut for managing the site. After several months of a hiatus in selling, I listed an item today to find out that I needed to re-register. I gritted my teeth about entering the last four of my SSN for them, but I completely balked when they wanted the ability to remove funds directly from my checking account. I don't worry so much about eBay, but if someone hacks them, then I could be screwed, blued and tattooed. And, no, I am not willing to open another checking account with just a few bucks just for eBay selling access. I guess all good things come to an end.

Access to withdraw funds directly from my checking account? Not just no, but Hell no.

Late to Skeletor Scott's party

I missed the story until an hour or so ago. Where is He-Man when we need him. The Republican assholes all want to be Masters of the Universe!

It is rough to live in a state where all of the major politicians are trying to out-Nazi each other. Think about it folks, we have Trump, Scott, DeSantis, Gatez, and a host of lesser Fascist vying for the love and support of the craziest people in America. I am thinking you all need to be planning a 400 mile wall on the Georgia and Alabama borders before this shit-show spreads north. When the wall is completed, you can toss over all of the rest of the nasty bastards over it to our tropical paradise; we may as well have Maggot Traitor Greenie and bitch McConnell too!

I guess it is poetic justice that Florida has a Goofy, Mickey Mouse Government. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Is it still tomorrow that Biden and Harris resign?

Does the swearing in of Trump happen before the end of the week? I haven't been keeping up.

Temps here going to 98 F here today, with a humidity of 85%

Outside will feel like you are wearing a hot, wet blanket. Yesterday was miserable but today will be worse. The air appears to be full of smog, but it is just steam. It is a premature welcome to August in the Deep South. Walking the dog will be a challenge for an old guy.

Heat Index Temperature: 155°F (69°C or 342K)

Extreme danger: at this condition, heat stroke is imminent.
