WHat we're up against

I saw a movie trailer this afternoon. About the girl who saw the VIrgin Mary in Belgium, maybe? takes place in the early part of the 20th century. Looks good.

I've kept politic off my fb page ( I know). As a history teacher, I know HISTORY when it happens. The Trump Treason Capitol Insurrection is going to fall below the Lincoln Assassination and the Civil War, and below Kennedy's assassination, but rank in the end even more momentous that Pearl Harbor or 9/11.

I'm sticking to news reports from Reuters and the AP and not tolerating nonsense memes from the high school graduates I went to school with. I call out the specific fallacy and note when they birdwalk and change the subject with their whataboutery. I ask them, politely, to stay on topic. One long discussion, two attempted, and another, meme thrower have been swatted. They rarely last more than two exchanges, and my comments get likes for being reasoned and thoughtful.

That said: this is what we're up against....

Speak the truth sister!!! But I believe Biden will not be in office a year. He is being used as a puppet to get Harris the Presidency and Nancy Pelosi the Vice Presidency. They know that Biden is losing his mental capabilities and therefore will not be able to complete his term. The Democratic Party is counting on that. XXXXX, do what Jesus told us to do, pray for our enemies and our leaders. In this case our enemies and leaders are one of the same. But when you pray and bless them and if they don’t turn from their wicked ways it will be like pouring hot coals on them. So in the end we will win because Jesus won.

Religion is magical thinking. It's superstitions from the Bronze Age, with Church politics thrown in for good measure. Faith requires the to believe what can not be proven. Doubt is forbidden, and this infects the religious right politicians who refuse to compromise because Jesus hates lukewarm christians. or some such nonsense.

If you're trying to describe a single motherfucker who is both a racist and a piece of shit, there are some basic rules to follow:
1) Motherfucker is, indeed, a compound noun, so it is a single word: "motherfucker," as is the gerund/adjective "motherfucking," as in "The president of the United States is a motherfucking racist," or "The president of the United States is a motherfucker."
2) "Racist" can be used as both a noun and an adjective, so its placement in your sentence depends on how you use it: "The motherfucking president is a racist," and "The president is a motherfucking racist" are both correct, as is "The racist president is a motherfucker."
3) "Piece-of-shit" is different than both "motherfucking" and "racist" because as a compound adjective used before the noun it modifies, it needs hyphenation. As a noun phrase, "piece of shit" needs no extra hyphenation: "The president is a piece of shit" is fine, but you need to write "The piece-of-shit president is a motherfucking racist" with the hyphens indicating its role as an adjective.
4) If you want to use both "piece of shit" as a predicate adjective and "motherfucking" and "racist" as adjectives before the noun, it needs a comma to separate what are called "adjectives of equal rank": "The President is a motherfucking, racist piece of shit." (Thanks, Roland99!)

THey're reporting the events of yesterday's insurrection as an attack against police. No mention of resignations, chryon of fencing being put up around Trump Properties to protect them.

Some tool on FOX is making false equivalencies to BLM protests and how outraged he was that they "trashed his neighborhood." (not likely). "Unlike them," he said, "we don't play favorites with our riot responses." The black man is speaking truth, and the tool in the center is angry, visibly angry, eyes bugged out angry, and shouting. Their whole business model is done.

Boycotts of advertisers work.
