On Sunday night, Biden’s team informed the media that he was visiting an orthopedist because he twisted his ankle while playing with one of his dogs. Biden’s physician diagnosed him with hairline fractures in his mid-foot that will require the president-elect to wear a walking boot as he recovers in the coming weeks.
Footage has emerged of Biden walking out of the doctor’s office.
Despite that video, Mitchell criticized the Biden team for secrecy surrounding the incident. When she addressed the news on Monday, the MSNBC anchor pointed out that Biden’s injury happened on Saturday, but the media wasn’t informed of it until Sunday when he was on his way to the doctor.
“They weren’t as forthcoming as you would hope they would be with the press pool that’s supposed to cover him,” Mitchell said.

Who needs Russia? Loudest attacks on US vote are from Trump
WASHINGTON (AP) — Russia didn’t have to lift a finger.
In the weeks before the U.S. presidential election, federal authorities warned that Russia or other foreign countries might spread false information about the results to discredit the legitimacy of the outcome.
Turns out, the loudest megaphone for that message belonged not to Russia but to President Donald Trump, who has trumpeted a blizzard of thoroughly debunked claims to proclaim that he, not President-elect Joe Biden, was the rightful winner.
The resulting chaos is consistent with longstanding Russian interests to sow discord in the United States and to chip away at the country’s democratic foundations and standing on the world stage. If the 2016 election raised concerns about foreign interference in U.S. politics, the 2020 contest shows how Americans themselves, and their leaders, can be a powerful source of disinformation without other governments even needing to do the work.
“For quite a while at this point, the Kremlin has been able to essentially just use and amplify the content, the false and misleading and sensational, politically divisive content generated by political officials and American themselves” rather than create their own narratives and content, said former CIA officer Cindy Otis, vice president for analysis at the Alethea Group, which tracks disinformation.

CNN Found ANOTHER Supposedly Dead Voter That Trump and Tucker Carlson Touted -- She's Alive
CNN reporters tracked down yet another voter whom President Donald Trump and Fox News host Tucker Carlson touted as examples of dead people voting illegally in the last election, and to paraphrase Gene Wilder, “She’s ALIVE!”
On his partially-eponymous television program last week, Carlson regaled viewers with tales of dead voters who had reportedly voted fraudulently in Georgia, a story that included the electoral resurrection of a woman named Deborah Jean Christiansen.
But a report by CNN’s Konstantin Toropin, Daniel Dale, and Amara Walker reveals that Ms. Christiansen is very much alive, answering knocks on her door, and in fact did vote for Trump — in 2016. This year, she voted for then-soon-to-be-President-elect Joe Biden.....

Trump's Top Cyber Official at DHS Shoots Down Election Fraud Claims

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Chris Krebs appeared to oppose President Donald Trump’s allegations that the election was rigged on Tuesday.
In a Twitter post, Krebs — a Trump appointee — pointed out that, “On allegations that election systems were manipulated, 59 election security experts all agree” the claims were either “unsubstantiated” or “incoherent.”

Krebs was referencing an open letter signed by scientists, professors, and security experts who shot down Trump’s claims of election fraud.
“We are aware of alarming assertions being made that the 2020 election was ‘rigged’ by exploiting technical vulnerabilities. However, in every case of which we are aware, these claims either have been unsubstantiated or are technically incoherent,” the letter declared, adding, “To our collective knowledge, no credible evidence has been put forth that supports a conclusion that the 2020 election outcome in any state has been altered through technical compromise.”

Trump-Voting Counties Make Up Just 29 Percent of U.S. Economic Output

Counties won by Democratic President-elect Joe Biden make up 70 percent of all U.S. economic output—or gross domestic product (GDP)—a new post-election study finds.
Biden has repeated the phrase "there are no blue states or red states, just the United States" in several appeals to President Donald Trump's voters since being named President-elect Saturday. But the more than 75.6 million votes Biden won in the 2020 election led him to victory in nearly all of the country's top 100 most powerful local economies.
Meanwhile, Trump voter counties make up less than one-third of the country's economic output, a Brookings Institution study said. The president's unsuccessful re-election bid hinged on his touting of the pre-pandemic economy. But his railing against urban areas as "crime infested" rather than centers of American wealth only allowed him to amass more rural county voters.
"Trump's losing base of 2,497 counties represents just 29% of the economy," the post-election analysis co-authors found.

Trump's National Security Adviser Tells Staff: Don't Even Mention Biden's Name
President Donald Trump continues to refuse to cede the election. His national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, is enabling the mayhem, four senior officials told The Daily Beast.
O’Brien—once viewed as a potential check on Trump’s erratic national security demands—endorsed the installation of a pair of Trumpists at the Pentagon’s highest levels, while a defense secretary O’Brien has long opposed was fired by tweet.

Other officials familiar with the matter noted that O’Brien has also pushed national security officials to publicly embrace the absurd Trump message that the election has not been certified and that there are still legal battles playing out across the country that could turn in the president’s favor.
“If you even mention Biden’s name… that’s a no-go, you’d be fired,” one national security official said. “Everyone is scared of even talking about the chance of working with the [Biden] transition.”

Biden-voting counties equal 70% of America's economy

By contrast, Trump won thousands of counties in small-town and rural communities with correspondingly tiny economies (depicted by the red tiles). Biden’s counties tended to be far more diverse, educated, and white-collar professional, with their aggregate nonwhite and college-educated shares of the economy running to 35% and 36%, respectively, compared to 16% and 25% in counties that voted for Trump.
In short, 2020’s map continues to reflect a striking split between the large, dense, metropolitan counties that voted Democratic and the mostly exurban, small-town, or rural counties that voted Republican. Blue and red America reflect two very different economies: one oriented to diverse, often college-educated workers in professional and digital services occupations, and the other whiter, less-educated, and more dependent on “traditional” industries.
