The Secret Service is reportedly investigating a Texas teenager who threatened to kill president-elect Joe Biden.
A video circulated over the weekend showing the teenager displaying guns and asking other supporters of President Donald Trump to meet up and “assassinate Joe Biden,” reported KTRK-TV.
“This is as clear cut of a case of a terroristic threat as I’ve ever seen,” said attorney Steve Shellist, who isn’t involved in the case. “There are still crimes, and you can prosecute someone as a minor, it would just be handled in a different way.”
The Secret Service would not confirm its involvement in the case, which is standard policy for all threats handled by the agency, but the TV station learned agents had looked into the matter.

Trump's campaign presented 'hearsay written on a sticky note' in court as evidence of voter fraud

President Donald Trump’s campaign is still trying to raise legal challenges to votes cast in the 2020 election — but so far it has lost in all five of the court cases it has pursued.
The Washington Post has taken a look at some of the Trump campaign’s multiple failed efforts to get votes tossed out in several swing states, and one particularly egregious failure came in the state of Michigan, where the campaign’s evidence amounted to a piece of hearsay that had been scribbled onto a post-it note.
Specifically, Judge Cynthia Diane Stephens of the Michigan First District Court of Appeals last week rejected the Trump campaign’s efforts to halt the counting of absentee ballots in the state based on hearsay from a GOP election observer.
“In that case, a Republican election observer said she’d been given a sticky note by an unnamed poll worker, alleging that late-arriving ballots were being counted improperly,” the Post reports. “But she couldn’t provide the poll worker’s name or any other proof.”

Russian state media furious with Trump after loss to Biden: 'Nothing will ever be the same'

According to the Daily Beast’s Russian media expert, news that Donald Trump failed to secure another four years in the Oval Office was not well received by commentators on Kremlin-backed media outlets with one commentator wailing, “Nothing will ever be the same.”
While the president had insisted that he did not have the backing of Russia, media figures told a different tale after word reached them that Joe Biden will be taking the reins in the U.S. in January.
As Julia Davis wrote, “Pro-Kremlin news anchors, pundits and experts have long dreaded former Vice President Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, having described it as ‘the worst scenario for Russia.’ As their nightmare became an inevitable reality, Russian state television shows were permeated with angry faces and raw emotions.”

Speaking on radio, lawmaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky sadly pointed out that Russia did not get all it wanted out of Trump.
“Trump didn’t do anything good for us,” he complained. “In his election campaign, he promised to improve [relations], but in reality he did nothing, he didn’t even come here. All U.S. presidents came to Russia and invited our president to their place in Washington, everyone except him. Donald Trump did not come to Moscow and never invited our president to Washington. Therefore, all we are left with are bad memories.”

Dear DU friends,
This poem speaks to my heart in a way few others can.
Hughes' final stanza lays out the mission and the work that lies ahead for President-Elect Joe Biden, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris and those of us who love America and want it to become "the dream the dreamers dreamed."

MINNEAPOLIS — After trying to capitalize on the civil unrest in Minneapolis this summer, two members of anti-government Boogaloo Bois attempted to sell untraceable machine guns and unregistered silencers to Hamas, an international terrorist group, to be used in attacks against United States and Israeli soldiers overseas, according to a new indictment announced by federal prosecutors in Minnesota Friday.Michael Robert Solomon, 30, and Benjamin Ryan Teeter, 22, met with an undercover FBI agent, who they believed to be a senior member of Hamas, on July 30, according to federal court documents.

The two men delivered silencers and a “drop in auto sear” — a device that converts semi-automatic weapons into illegal machine guns — to the undercover agent. They said they could make untraceable weapons and gun parts, and negotiated to sell five more silencers for $1,800 apiece, according to court documents.
The indictment adds two new weapons counts to the criminal case against Solomon and Teeter, adding to the previous terrorism charges, for illegal possession of machine guns and silencers. Along with other federal court documents, the indictment provides detail into the role the Boogaloo Bois, a loose-knit group bent on starting the next American civil war, played during Minneapolis riots after the police killing of George Floyd and their alleged plot to enlist as mercenaries for Hamas to raise money for their movement.

In an article for McClatchy this Friday, Tara Copp tackled the question of how the military would handle a potential situation where President Trump refuses to leave office. According to her, “it’s not up to him.”
“The 20th Amendment states that the power of the presidency, and with it command of the armed forces, will transfer to the president-elect on Jan. 20,” Copp writes. “Both current and retired uniformed and civilian defense officials are stressing that the military has no role in that power transfer and will not intervene.”

According to Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy at Cardozo Law School professor Deborah Pearlstein, it will be up to Joe Biden to decide which law enforcement branch, such as the U.S. Marshals or Secret Service, would be tasked with getting Trump to vacate the White House.
