Probably some important lessons there that definitely need to be examined but I am over it. TM was not a good candidate and didn’t really say much other than trump bad. It wasn’t enough that he was a Gov before. Additionally it seems that this seems to happen in the off year election cycle there.
Important lessons to be learned for sure but we cannot let the MSM tie this to us like an anchor. Too much work to do and wallowing around about it does nothing to serve us.

A big part of our problem is white people
A big part of our problem is white people cannot wrap their heads around the fact that POC are Americans. They are so scared of POC (and specifically black people) that they will vote against their own best interests in order to stop from having to come to grips with that fact. Hell they cannot even accept our own history of what happened in this country. Until people come to grips with the fact that when POC people are struggling, hurting, or being mistreated, Americans are hurting we will never move on. Republicans love to push this button.
How will we go on?
Reading DU today, well actually the last couple weeks. I have learned that we are going to lose the house and the senate in 22 and the presidency in 24. We will be rounded up by the military and locked up in camps or possibly outright executed. I have read posts that we need to disregard the election results if we lose. That perhaps we need to go on the offensive now… I don’t even want to guess what is meant by that.
And all of this hyper doom is echoed and heightened by following replies that turn up the fear. Push the edge a little further. We are all sitting on our phones or computers, likely secure and safe and warm and most of us likely fed, mostly pretty comfortable, fuck some of you are probably sitting at a damned starbucks enjoying a triple extra shot caramel grande fuckety fuck preaching about the end of the world. Sluuuurrrrrrrrp. Make sure to use your straw to get that last bit of warm whipping cream from the bottom of your cup.
Damn man. Is that all we have in us? To guve the fuck up if republicans do the shit that republicans have been doing for-fucking-ever? Even if all of that shit comes to pass… What yer going to go belly up and let that shit happen? You think the majority of the country is just going to roll the fuck over and accept it? I get it that we need to take shit seriously but if shit goes sideways are you really goibg to just give up?

For some reason I have been thinking about time travel.
I have decided that economic time travel for average people in my lifetime will never be possible because I am declaring right now that I would have stopped myself from making this post if it was.
But that got me to thinking about just how we got to this point in time that things are so insanely crazy. It feels like as we move forward the insanity keeps creeping up more and more. Almost like someone keeps trying to course change the inevitable by coming back and injecting more insanity. Like at some point in the future someone decided that they didn’t like the course that the world followed so they went back and changed things. At first it seemed normal to some. Although I am not sure how we decided to accept that the people with the most should be trusted by those with the least to do what is in their best interest out of some never seen altruistic drive. Vut when I think of the shit we have just been ok with over the last 40 years and the constant fight the educated good people in this world have had to endure nothing seems to make sense at all. I have to believe there is something else at play other than people are just awful. It doesn’t make sense that in a world where most living things find a way to live harmoniously or at least in cycles that strengthen natures systems, that humans wouldn’t also follow those systems. Or perhaps we are? Maybe we need the crazy to scale back our numbers so that we have less of an impact on our world and natures systems.
After reading the deer thread (where it is stated that deer need to be hunted to keep populations in check) perhaps there are those time travelers there to push us to limit our growth.
Perhaps they are our deer hunters.
We need to take advantage of TX.
Ok it sucks. It is evil. It is an assault on women. It is Bullshit.
But it NEEDS to be our rally cry for 2022 and beyond. They are fucking with women and we need to be letting everyone know that this can happen EVEN in their blue state if we do not reject republicanism.
Can anyone name a single republican bill
Can anyone name a single republican bill or program that has benefitted the country in a meaningful way in the last 40 years? I am sure there are some but Injust can’t think of it.
I live in MN and I have a republican neighbor who complains about Democrats constantly but I have to laugh because he lives in a state that has been mostly Democratic for a long time and we live on the outskirts of Minneapolis. He clearly benefits from Democratic legislation here at home and nationally. But wondering exactly what legislation passed by republicans could be considered beneficial to the general public. And I come up empty.

Ok I know that we get occasionally weird weather but this week of mid to high 90’s in the first week or two of June feels off. Late July or August? Sure that happens but early June?
And I also know that isolated weather incidents are not indicative of climate change but maybe if we can let people know that this is what it could be like a hell of a lot more often and worse if we don’t do something soon, maybe then people wipp start to listen. Probably not though.
One thing I do know though. The earth will correct itself one way or another and wiping us off the face of the planet is not an unrealistic option for mother earth. I do think things like covid and other happenings are ways that nature deals with over population so I wouldn’t be surprised to see more things like that and other natural disasters start to kill off humans. Including excessive heat.
I would like to know
I would like to know how often cops are shot at or even seriously threatened with harm. Are there any statistics? Because it sure seems to be out of scope for the number of cops getting injured ir killed versus poc being shot and killed. Even more so how often is a cop shot or injured ina situation where a gun may have helped them.
Anyway to trash a thread without opening?
There are certain subjects that I just cannot stomach. Particularly crimes against children. Wondering if there is a way to trash threads without opening them so that I don’t have to see the details as I scroll to the trash feature?
