ChrisF1961's JournalI worked for the NYC Board of Elections 8 years ago
It was a freelance public relations gig to help recruit poll workers. Specifically younger workers since most are older retired people who tend to die.
I was was only there for about 4 months but this is what I observed.
- Most of the people working there got the job because they have a connection, either a friend or family member who is or worked for an elected or party official.
- About 70% of the people who worked there were completely useless. Totally unprofessional who had no business working in an office. The other 30% were very good and did all the work.
- The computers and software was old and antiquated.
- The offices were dirty and falling apart.
I was so glad when my contract was up after the election and was able to get out of there. And am not surprised that they screwed this primary up.

Saw a bunch of houses with Trump 2020 flags
this morning. How pathetic are these people. The election is over. Trump lost. Get over it and move on.
Who is off tomorrow for Juneteenth?
Just curious since my company is closed. They gave us the day off last year too.

Joe Manchin is opposing big parts of Biden's agenda as the Koch network pressures him
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/08/joe-manchin-is-opposing-big-parts-of-bidens-agenda-as-the-koch-network-pressures-him.htmlThe Koch network has been actively pressuring Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin to oppose key legislative items linked to Bidens agenda, including filibuster reform and voting rights legislation.
The lobbying effort appears to be paying off. Manchin, in a recent op-ed, wrote that he opposed eliminating the filibuster and that he would not vote for the For the People Act.
The Koch network specifically calls on its grassroots supporters to push Manchin, a conservative Democrat, to be against some of his partys legislative priorities.
