Remember when you were young? I do. Remember the one night stands?
If abortion is banned the one night stand will begin to disappear. It will be much harder for young single men to get laid. Young women will become much more protective.
When it comes to sex the Republicans want to bring us back to 1950's. They also want to ban the pill. They want to end the sexual revolution which began in the 60's.
If young people are paying attention they should vote in big numbers this election.
The secret document investigation: What Garland decides will set precedent for future investigations
Think about that for of a minute. If Garland gives Trump a slap on the wrist or does nothing for the obvious crimes he committed, that will set precedent for all future investigations into stolen secret documents. Garland knows this.
The DOJ was practically begging Trump to return the documents. Trump spit right in their faces over and over again. Even when they issued a grand jury subpoena Trump spit in their face. His narcissism took over.
When they searched Trumps resort and found secret documents in his office, I believe that changed everything. I believe Garland is going to bring the hammer down on Trump. I believe he is going to indict him and charge him with everything he can be charged for.
The bottom line, when the law gives you a way out, gives you multiple warnings and you spit in their face. They are going to show no mercy when they charge you. This is just common sense.
The only way we can lose our democracy is if the people vote to get rid of it.
I do not believe the polls, they better be wrong.
The American people witnessed J6 and the overturning of Roe. This election is about our democracy and our rights. Everything else is secondary.
If the people vote to put the Republicans in charge of congress they will be voting for many traitors who attempted to end our democracy on J6. They will be voting for people who want to take our rights away.
This election is all about the America people. Are they competent or are they self destructive?
Watching a Trump voter focus group is like watching a Nurse Ratched patient focus group.
There is very little difference.
MSNBC showed a video of a Trump voter focus group. There were around 9, 10 of them and these were your average Trump voters. They were asked simple questions to get their views. ALL of them were in complete denial. Trump has done nothing wrong, Trump voters have done nothing wrong. The Trump voters who stormed the capital were just like BLM protests.
They also answered everything, in order to defend themselves, with talking points they heard on Fox News or found on the internet. They were like robots all repeating the same lies.
Deep down inside many Trump voters know they are wrong about almost everything. That's why they are in complete denial. They cannot mentally handle the fact they are wrong about Trump, so they make up excuses, use excuses to deflect. Excepting the truth, facing reality would be admitting they are idiots who were suckered by Trump.
When all the indictments come down on Trumps inner circle and Trump. Trump voters are going to have a mental breakdown. Many will retreat into isolation, into their own little bubbles, mumbling to themselves. Only the truly crazy will remain, the Q followers for example.
I have said it from the beginning. Trump voters are going to become infamous for all time. History is going to be brutal to the Trump voters.
Just once, I would love to hear someone say this to Trump.
You have done enough damage, shut the hell up and go golfing, permanently.
The responses to my retirement post are a real eye opener.
They verified what I have believed for a very long time. Our work place culture is deranged, toxic, sick.
I was happy to read some people found careers they loved and they do not want to retire. Some doctors love helping people and continue to work. That's a good thing.
Many people lived the same nightmare I lived during my work career. It looks like teachers are dealing with a deranged work place. That is not a good thing.
I was a blue collar worker. I worked many different types of jobs. I noticed a big change in the work place culture between the 70s and 80s. Things have gotten worse since then. Jobs attempted to claim ownership of their employees. They wanted to control, monitor you down to the last minute of the day. Some times jobs wanted to control you when you were not at work .Doing a good job was never good enough which drove me crazy.
During my work career I used to argue with management and the union. I told both of them what you are doing is counter productive. Driving, harassing, the workers hurts productivity. The goal should be to make your workers happy, not miserable. Management and the union were in a constant state of war. What a waste of time and money. Many of the good workers would leave, retire early, quit, get new jobs. How is that good for anybody?
I will not bore with all the details of what happened to me during my work career. I am lucky I am still sane. Here are some examples. Management attempting to steal our pay. Bosses spying on you at work and at home. Setting up workers to fail because the boss didn't like you. The boss didn't like you not because you were a bad worker. The boss didn't like you because you wouldn't kiss their ass.
Forced overtime. Forced to work your days off with no warning. Moving your job to a different city. You can either move or quit. The list goes on and on.
The work place culture over the years became something I could not comprehend. I always saw the workplace, a job, as a partnership. The employer and employee working together to get the job done. My job was to show up on time everyday, do my job correctly and on time. That's it. That became something that was not good enough for the work place in America.
This is why retirement is such a great relief for many people.
I retired a little over two years ago and I can honestly tell you this.
I do not miss work at all. For the first time in over 40 forty years of dealing with a deranged work place culture, my stress levels have come way down. I was always a good worker who would not let bosses, management, abuse me, take advantage of me. Which meant I was constantly fighting back against power crazy bosses, etc. It was no fun.
When I retired I was worried because I knew I would be on a fix income. I knew I had enough to pay the bills, but when you own a home, car, you have to maintain them. that can be expensive at times. I was also a little worried about becoming bored. None of this has become a problem.
When you retire you learn how to adjust. Things work out. It is possible one day I may get a small part time job. But it will be on my terms and if any boss gives me shit I can flip them the bird and simply quit.
As many of you know, early this year I was diagnosed with melanoma. It has been stressful, but it would have been much more stressful if I was working. The stress would have been off the charts because jobs, bosses, will give you a hard time taken time off to treat yourself. You might not have enough sick time, so you don't get paid. They don't give a shit.
So if you are thinking, worried about retirement, don't sweat it. Things will work out. You will find a way to adjust and there is a good chance your stress levels will decrease big time.
One last thing, I love waking up in the morning and having nothing planned or having something planned for me. I do what ever I want to do. That's peace of mind. You can't put a price on peace of mind.
Question for DU members who live in swing states.
We don't get to see a lot of political ads here in upstate NY. I was wondering if they are showing a lot of political ads about ROE and J6 in contested state elections.
J6 committee issues subpoena for the traitor Trump.
Now the the courts will have to decide. Trump will have too decide what he wants to do. Of course he will delay.
The committee has done their job. They have laid out the evidence to the American people. Now it's up to the DOJ and the courts.
I believe we should bomb or cyber attack the Iranian factories that build drones.
I am tired of the Iran government and their bullshit. It is being reported Iran has sent drones and trainers to Russia. We should semd a message to Iran. Stay the fuck out of the Ukraine war. 
Putin is trying to turn Ukraine into a wasteland. Iran is helping them do that.
