All his announcement did was speed up the process of indicting him. Before Trump made his announcement Garland was on no timeline, no matter what other people think, now he is. When Trump announced he was running for president that set a timeline.
Garland knew at that moment he had to take action and he did. He hired Smith for a reason. To take swift action.
Trump is fucking stupid. He is proving it time and time again. When he learned the Archives, FBI, knew he had documents. All Trump had to do was return them and he would have walked. He was so stupid, so child like, he defied a grand jury subpoena and attempted to hide the secret documents in a place he thought no one would ever find them, His fucking desk. What an idiot.
It will not take a long time for Jack Smith to be briefed on the secret document investigation.
The possible charges are listed on the warrant and this is a smoking gun case. Trump is going to be indicted and I agree with Andrew Weissmann who said Trump will most likely be indicted within the next few months in this case.
Garland did not pick Smith to play games, take years to investigate Trumps crimes. Smith is going to move quickly.

Lake effect snow storms are some of the most dangerous storms to drive in.
Years ago I was driving on interstate 90 west towards Buffalo NY. It was a sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. All of the sudden a gray/black cloud appeared ahead. Instant white out. All I could see was the red tail lights in front of me. I remember saying to the car in front of me, Don't slow down, Don't hit the brakes. It was terrifying.
You cannot slow down or pull over. You just have to keep on driving and hope nobody in front of you panics and hits their brakes. If they do it will result in a massive pile up.
Five minutes later the snow suddenly stops and the sun reappears. Not a cloud in the sky.
Twenty minutes later, another gray/black cloud appears, whiteout.
What they are going through in western NY right now is unbelievable. All lake effect snow.
This is the best thing I have heard about Jack Smith so far.
He is not afraid to lose a highly sensitive political case.
Which means Jack Smith is no Alvin Bragg. That is good news. Bragg is the Manhattan DA who was afraid to prosecute Trump because he might lose.
We are going to witness a perfect example of how extremism destroys itself in the end.
People like Jim Jordan, McCarthy and others refused to answer a subpoena from the J6 committee. That means they are afraid, hiding something. They were a part of J6 in some way. They are compromised. They are weak. They are illegitimate.
Now, Jim Jordan is going to leading many of the investigations. He has the power to subpoena people. Jordan refuses to answer a legit subpoena and now he is going to subpoena people? Good fucking luck you traitor. The Democrats are going to tear their investigations to pieces.
The extremists, the traitors, are going to look like the fools they are.
Twitter even allows experts to emotionally respond too quickly.
I listen to people like Tribe, Weismann, McQuade, Banks, because I want to learn all I can. Twitter makes it to easy to respond quickly to a big news event. Now that people, experts, have had time to think about the SC they are saying this is not as bad as they thought at first.

Holy shit! There may be another reason Garland appointed a Special Counsel.
Garland told us he appointed a SC because Trump announced he is running for president. I have no reason to doubt this.
However, Garland knows the Republicans took back the House. Garland knows there will now be Non-stop fake hearings and he will be a big target of these fake hearings. These hearings will be led by traitor Jim Jordan who was a part of J6. He will be interrogating Garland about the J6 investigation. You can't make this shit up.
Garland knows the Republicans are going to hound him. They will attempt to disrupt him, make him look corrupt. They are going to keep Garland busy defending the investigations.
By appointing a SC, it will assure the investigations are not disrupted. It will also give Garland cover as he is being interrogated by the very traitors he is investigating.
Think about it.
When Trump announced he is running, he also announced a major national security threat.
Himself. Garland and every prosecutor investigating Trump know he is guilty. They know he stole secret documents, attempted a coup.
They know Trump should never be allowed near the White House ever again. Trump running for president is a major national security threat and the majority of the American people know it.
In my opinion, Garland appointed a special prosecutor in direct response to Trumps announcement. This told me the investigations are moving full steam ahead towards indictments.
Some people are comparing this special counsel to Mueller. That is a false comparison. The Mueller investigation was limited in scope. Trump was president and AG Barr buried the Mueller report. None of that is true in this case.
I must also say this again, the investigations have not been taking too long. Garland did not take office until March 2021. At best he has been investigating Trump for 18 months. Being these are the largest most sensitive investigations in our history, 18 months is not too long.
This is just a guess. I believe we will see Trump indicted in the secret document investigation first. It will not take long for the special counsel to be briefed on that case. That is not really a complicated case. They have smoking gun evidence when it comes to obstruction of justice. Trump defied a grand jury subpoena. That is a felony. They found documents in his office and desk so Trump has no defense.
Some DU members have said they wish Trump would die and be gone forever. I would not complain if that happens. Trump has been disrupting our country and our lives for too long. If he died it would be a great relief.
One day we will no longer be debating about Trump being indicted or not. We will be debating this.
Will Trump be convicted.
Garland still has the last call when it comes to indictments. The appointment of a special counsel does not change anything in a major way. It was no coincidence Garland made this move after Trump announced he is running for president. Garland could not assume Trump was going to run for president, prosecutors do not assume things. When Trump announced, Garland acted quickly.
The man he appointed to special counsel did not give up his job at the Hague, travel back to America for the hell of it. He is coming here to do a job and he seems to be a very serious prosecutor.
The idea Trump will never be indicted for the obvious crimes he has committed is unimaginable to me. If that happened it would have catastrophic results for our country. The rule of law would basically collapse. National security would collapse. In 2024, if Biden lost he could say the election was stolen, legally try to stop the vote count. He could leave office with all the top secret documents he wanted. It would be legal.
I am not worried about Trump being indicted. i am worried about, will he be convicted.
