(40,208 posts)I have actually lived in a foreign country and after a while I missed living in America. It is not as easy as some people think, especially when you are spending 5 hours a day in a classroom learning a new language, experiencing profound cultural differences even in "western" countries, and being away from all that is familiar. And unless you are working for an American/English language company or living in an English speaking country, you are not going to be able to work in the same kind of job you had here. The language barrier can take years before you are fluent enough to work in a high level position.
I think a lot of it is just talk and it isn't necessary to tell people to STFU. People are upset and overwhelmed and say things out of frustration. Right now it seems like we are losing our country to the most extreme fringe and that is scary. We need to remember that nothing stays the same and things change and that the way it is today is not the way it will always be.
