Believe the AK-47 was accepted for service in the Soviet Army until 1949. What the Chinese Army and the North Korean Army were equipped with was the PPSh-41 (aka the burp gun). The Soviets made millions of them and gave plenty to the Chinese. The Chinese also began manufacturing the PPSh. These weapons would have been considered obsolete by the Soviets once the adopted the AK-47.
