On visits to my hometown, I have had numerous women who ask me after they learn my last name if my mom was the Girl Scout leader. When I tell she indeed was, every single women has told me how the Girl Scouts was one of the best things they ever did.

I believe them.

Mom’s crew at the Singing Sands Council of the GSA poured their hearts into scouting. They made sure every girl of every background involved was able to get the best experience. The GSA worked to teach every one had value—and they did so by living this belief.
