(5,810 posts)48. And never let us forget that each time he puts in an appearance in these disaster areas,
it costs plenty of tax payer dollars. Just so he can show up in pristine workboots and a casual shirt and windbreaker. He mouths the same meaningless phrases, hobnobs with local and state leaders (like they are all best buds), looks around and shakes his pumpkin head and then hops back on AF1 and calls it a day.
This costs millions of dollars because he always takes an entourage and the press corps. There are security concerns that also cost a lot. All so he can show up and say, Aint it a shame? This he says after trashing everyone and his dog. The people impacted by the disaster ought to just not attend these mini-rallies. But they know you gotta play the game. Smile like you like it.
