I'm sure many have succeeded other than that, but it's a pretty good rule of thumb. You have to find out who you were when you were un-coupled again. And many years and 5 kids? You never get over that. I think it started while he was still married...not sure, but it happened quickly. That's called a Rebound.

Maybe not conscience...got a feeling she is not a shrinking violet...jumps at the orders...that he is used to. My guess...it's not working out, or, she's making mincemeat out of him. Then he gets clingy and desperate because of what he gave up, and she backs off even more because he's needy. Probably a bit of each and more.
