...there was an idea that journalists didn't know that would happen because they were out of touch with real Americans who like Nixon.

Because "coastal elites" jet from one coast to the other and never get to know the vast middle...

Dang. It's "fly-over" to me because every time I price tickets to those states, they're expensive.

It is expensive because the airports in those places are small. Major carriers don't fly to them.

I used to work for a regional back in my early twenties. Twin Otters, Nords & comparable are cheap.
