These are things are viewed different by each individual. I was a big Clinton backer. I know that many Clinton backers around me thought that discussing her Iraq war vote was counterproductive and was just an attempt to demonize her. I thought it was fair game and an important part of her political history. I think talking about Gabbards appearant affection for brutal dictators to be fair game in a primary. Others don't. I think discussing Sanders past literary work that involves rape fantasies and his refusal to release full tax returns to be fair debate. Others don't.
"It is time for solidarity, not infighting."
Primaries are the exact time for infighting. The general, or the point at which the nominee is known, is the time for solidarity.
Out of all current announced candidates there isn't one I wouldn't vote for in the general.
