In reply to the discussion: Time to go all in on impeachment? [View all]kozar
(2,105 posts)Cohen comes to mind quickly. Gates flipped for the prosecution and what did the WH do?? Screamed liars, rats, etc, etc and filled the airwaves with that. How are more hearings going to be different? Seems to me it would continue to be the same game.
I feel like relying on the elections is "all eggs in one basket" type of thinking, why does it have to be a choice? Why not do both?
How about we let Congress concentrate on the impeachment proceedings, as I believe needs to happen,, and the rest of us do what we did last November and bust our butts to get the vote out and win the elections?
I just cannot wrap my thoughts around it has to be either or,,, I do not believe in the political fall out theme. Either the Democratic party acts like they go by all rules for the good of the country, or they don't.
I see alot of thoughts on both sides of this discussion. 1 point I see, rarely, if at all, from those who do not wish to start proceedings is that he did nothing wrong. So in that respect I feel we are all on same page.
I'm sorry ,I just cannot agree to not have impeachment proceedings simply because it may or may not hurt something in 18 months. That's political thinking and that is the R game when they don't even discuss SC nominations for a year.
