4. It's too bad about William Jennings Bryan.

He was one of the greatest progressive Democrats of his age. He was the Democratic nominee for President three times! The last time here in Denver in 1908. He was against the imperialism of McKinley and Roosevelt but for the early entrance of America in WWI. A complicated legacy. I think the play and movie presented him (Matthew Harrison Brady) in poor light. Bryan did die shortly after the Scopes trial.
