as to why folks are coming North. But,the untold change agent was our Department of Agriculture in a attempt to market US midwest grown corn in Latin America via the subside program,we wiped out the local Maze Growers because they could not compete. Which changed the local economies and thus the locals could not compete. Then there is the dietary changes as a result of the type of Corn we sold the Locals. Not only Climate issues,but monetary and dietary changes have to be addressed.

Cargilll,Bunge,and ADM made billions on the Shipping Subsides alone. And we wonder why the Northward Migration. But,it bought a ton of votes. Reagan and Bush knew there would be a problem,but,not to worry,that is someone else's problem.
