Let me add another aspect of this Poverty = Hate Syndrome, politics.

Specifically, the Republican party, who promotes fear and hate against everything they disagree with. It's boils down to power. In order to retain their power status as a viable national party, they must secure a majority of voter acceptance.

The GOP can no longer do that. The only way most Republicans can get elected is by chicanery, cheating and deception. TBTB, searching to expand their incredibly shrinking base, is actively recruiting from the dregs of society who are enthusiastically motivated by their own shortcomings to seek camaraderie in the coded language, the public support and like-minded beliefs thrown out by Republican politicians who assure them that their hate is well justified in the new culture of violence they are propagating.
