(14,565 posts)I might make one trip to the grocery store at night when it is less crowded.
I also play golf by myself once per week. That is the treat. So far the course has handled it extremely well. Everyone in the office is wearing masks. It's a quick grab of the key then get in the cart and get out of there.
Many of the rules have been changed. You can't touch the flagstick, which remains in at all times. They have a small PVC pipe which fits in the cup and prevents the ball from dropping fully in the hole. The flagstick sits into the small PVC pipe. The water stations and even the ball washers have been removed. Likewise the sand buckets on the carts to fill divots. The sand traps no longer have rakes. Basically any adjustment to touch as few things as possible.
The course is jammed. That is the amazing aspect. Tons more play than normal. I guess people realize this is the one activity you can do with wide open spaces and not as much risk. I drive the cart around from hole to hole to fit in where I can as a single. Often I'll play a few holes and catch up to a group. Then I depart and find another opening. Nobody from the course hassles me about this at all.
