bending over backward to keep republicans from getting mad. In initial negotiations over an early bipartisan bill, republicans sent their representatives with their demands. We gave them everything. Then they changed and refused the deal that they demanded. They are not going to negotiate. Stop delaying.

We have spent political will and still treat the 30% with deference. Nancy just did what we should have done all along - refuse to bow to their theatrics and demagoguery.

What prompted my post was the news story that Biden still supports the filibuster. He used the old excuse that it encourages cooperation and compromise. Almost all Congress watchers agree that it is still being used for the same thing it was always used for - holding back progress for the people. I love me some Biden, but he seems stuck in the past, back in the day when he was in the Senate. Those days are gone. republicans are not using the nice/nice rules of the past. It is to our detriment that we want to.

I mean, 147 of them voted to end our voting democracy. I love having a decent man as president. But he needs to use that decency to call out those who would destroy our democracy rather than spending days and months convening with them. He needs to recognize that they are lying. They are lying to his face, and he wants to believe that they are sincere and honest. Yes. That is naive.
