Tobacco-related diseases are very well-known predictable and preventable. Insurance companies are hedging against that future not denying coverage, not denying care, just charging more.
Uncle Joe keeps offering lollipops and hugs the carrot. Here comes the stick from Big Business in all its forms.

Agree. But that sets precedent for charging people more for weight, alcohol, not exercising, etc.
