In reply to the discussion: Alex Jones Says His Orders for the January 6th Insurrection Came from Trump [View all]Haggard Celine
(16,820 posts)I don't think he ever intended on going down there. He was trying to hedge his bets by keeping some distance between himself and the crime.
He knew they were going to break in there. It was the plan all along to have some people in the crowd who would break in and steal the ballots. They were looking for them in Pelosi's office and Clyburn's office and some others. I'm not sure what they planned to do with any Congressmen or Senators they found, or with Pence. There were some who apparently wanted to harm at least a few of them. I'm not sure how far their plans went in that direction.
I think Trump had troops on standby to declare some sort of emergency. But he knew the plan had flaws, which is why he wanted some distance between himself and the action, and he wanted plausible deniability for his involvement in planning the whole thing.
There were a lot of hands in the pot with regard to the planning of the insurrection. No doubt some in Congress were involved, and I think the committee knows who most of them were and have either gotten their phone records or are getting them. They're all very nervous right now, which is why Cawthorn and Gaetz and Greene and some others are really getting vocal these days. It's why Carlson is turning up the volume on his show, too. It's all coming to a head. We're going to see some action up there soon, I think.
