5. If you can wound and cripple those you supposedly "love" it's a logical step to spread that hate.

Not saying it is any type of SANE or RATIONAL thought, but people who beat those they love are not sane and/or rational.

Committing violence at home is the act of a violent person who feels justified in getting away with it.

Most mental health issues get worse without treatment.

So that the behavior expands outward makes scary sense.
