This feels like 1992 to me [View all]

I recall how much fun there was with Clinton and Gore, young charismatic candidates, their wives and families. Fleetwood Macs "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow" captured the mood perfectly.

The bus tours after the convention. They came through about 15 miles or so from where I live. Family friends just happened to be in an area when the bus stopped and the Clinton's and Gores got off to meet a d greet. The family friends were thrilled.

Remember the kick we all got out of Clinton's funny and goofy neckties? His love of McDonald's fries? How much fun he and Gore were having campaigning? Crowds were big and enthusiastic. There was a real happiness and opptimism about the future. I went to the inauguration and have never been in a crowd where everyone was so happy, friendly and, yes, joyful.
